My waters didn't break while I was in bed, but I had put a couple of folded up towels inside a garbage bag, then put that under our bottom sheet just in case. It was actually really comfy!
I have pinkies (some nurses call them Kylies). You can usually get them fairly cheap on ebay. Or if you know a nurse, ask them if they can source one![]()
You can get waterproof matress protectors that aren't crinkly. They feel cloth-like. I have one on my bed for life's other messes![]()
I put a cot waterproof protector under my sheets.
We have recently bought a new bed and mattress too (bliss) We invested in a mattress protector that zips over the whole mattress and actually guarantees to protect the mattress - I actually found post birth LOTS messier than my waters breaking lol
