My dogs sleep on bean bags that have a cotton liner, with a denim cover. I often chuck the bags in the liner in the shower (in the bath if you have one) with a bit of disinfectant and just mush the beans around (inside the cover) until they are clean.

If you are using a sheet to contain them, make sure it is tied really really well!

If you are going to wash them put them in pillow covers or laundry bags that have a zip.
This will keep them from escaping.
Make sure you vacuum after you have finished each stage.
If the cover is really smelly hang it outside overnight. I would also put a bit of "good smell stuff" in the rinse cycle.

beans will be fine - don't forget the sunloungers from the 80s & 90s (the beanbags that go in the pool) - they were filled with normal beanbags.

I'd be trying the "in the bath" thing, with bicarb & vinegar, then maybe a good hose outside and leave the bag spread out (as much as possible) to dry in the sun

I reckon the sheet might be really messy!!!!! I would chuck the whole thing in the machine if it'll fit, or the bath? Or peg it on the line and hose it down and let it drip dry...
    Good luck!

We have a beanbag that the dog peed on when he was toilet training...i just put the whole thing cover and beans in the bath and washed that way....that meant no beans everywhere. I have one of those $5 spray nozzles you can put on the fawcet spout and used that to fore the water through the beanbag to make sure all the urine was washed out......

Heard that the weather is going to be good toward the end of the week so maybe wash it at night and hand out so it airs overnight and all day
