Fridges - freezer top or bottom?

Ok so our temperamental fridge has finally pi$$ed me off one last time! The frost free freezer isn't and the fridge is freezing all the vegetables in the crisper. Argh!

I need a new one so should I get freezer top or bottom? Any suggestion of brands to get/avoid?
Should we get stainless Steele or white?

We have a Fisher Paykel that has freezer at bottom and its good. I like it that way as don't get stuff out of freezer a million times a day like fridge.
DH bought it in 2001 before we were together and (touch wood) have had NO issues at all with it.

It's white and so is our dishwasher as didnt see point paying more just for stainless steel that needs wiped down from finger marks constantly.

We also have a F&P with the freezer at the bottom. I love not having to bend to see what's in the fridge. Made sense to me as I'd only go to the freezer once a day or so, so no point in having it at eye height.

Ours is a stainless steel satin finish, which means no fingerprints and no smears or stains.

We've got a French door LG, with the freezer at the bottom. I love love love him. Like PRMG its the satin finish SS, which is great for not showing marks

Freezer bottom is tops.

I used to manage a bar with wall to wall stainless steel fixtures and I must have bought every stainless steel cleaning product one the market and it still shows every smudge and fingerprint so I'm firmly in the white camp. If you give it a good clean and it looks clean even after someone puts their hand on it.
If you're not super picky about a perfect finish then it mightn't matter to you

Unless you can get one of the smeg ones in the bright colours. Yum. I love them the only problem would be picking a colour.

Grew up with an upside down fridge, so they have always been normal to me. Would love a French Door fridge, but am seriously contemplating a proper cool room when we build.

Freezer has to be on bottom for me, it's what I'm used to, and as others have said I get things out of the fridge more than the freezer. However, a friend is selling their near new fridge very cheap to us, and it's a freezer on top, so that should be interesting.

Pick any fridge and take it to a panel beater - they'll spray it any colour you want. My old boss did it, took a F&P stainless steel fridge and got it yellow as it matched their kitchen, looked sensational!

We recently got a new fridge - freezer on the bottom - and I love love love it!

The old fridge was a pain in the butt - I do most of my fridge rummaging getting fruit and veg out and they were at the bottom in the old fridge - now they're right where I want and can see them. I think we're wasting less food now because we can see all the leftovers, etc. White finish - we've got the poor man's version - but it's a large one and it's fantastic.

We have a Samsung French door with freezer on bottom. I was stupidly excited when we bought it lol. I'm in the freezer maybe once a day, but use the fridge all the time. So it makes sense to me to have the stuff I use most at an easier to get to level.

The French door thing is fantastic, because the fridge is really wide and can fit big platters, but you can also open only one door to get out something small.

Space wise side by side is not an option so it needs to be a standard fridge. I think I am convinced to go upside down again. Now jus to find one that fits our cavity!

Are none of you people short like me? lol I'm 5'4 and I can't see the top shelf of my grandmas upside down fridge properly! Do you have a step stool

LimeSlice - my DD2 is only 98cm tall and she can get milk out of the fridge door, fruit out of the crisper, cold meats out of the drawer, and then anything from the bottom shelf. DD1 can get up to the middle shelf. The top shelf is like any top shelf should be - the good stuff for a select few and therefore out of their reach!
