yeah i've hired one once, did our place and did mum's on the weekend we had it, so could share the cost. i found it left the carpet quite damp in comparison to the one i'd borrowed from a friend in the past - so next time we were buying stuff from harvey norman, we found one there and bought it - much dryer clean for sure.

the cleanliness from the rug doctor was good - but it took several veeeeeeeeeeeeeery slow passes across the carpet to draw the moisture back out. the bissel we have now is much better (and it paid for itself after being used a few times cos it cost maybe 3 times the hire of the rug doctor)
