I honestly think stain removal is less about what product you use and more about how you treat it...I often spray with a pre-wash remover (enzyme based) but I think the ultimate secret weapon is applying your detergent/soap/spray/paste then soaking for an hour or two/overnight. Hot water is good for grease, oil, dirt, etc, but make sure if there's blood or other proteins involved you want to use cold/lukewarm water.
I keep a "soaky bucket" in the laundry sink at all times so whenever I come across a stain it just goes straight in, part of the routine. Gets it out every time.
