The vinegar is an acid that breaks down any dirt. So it comes off easy. The soap makes the vinegar stick to surfaces so after the two hour "soak" it wipes off easy. And I mean real easy.
Dishwashing detergent is good, even shampoo works a treat but this is a lot easier. And if you choose wisely with detergents its not harmful for the environment either.
I gave it a shot in in my microwave. I sprayed it on and left it for about half an hour. By the time I got back to it the dirt was practically dropping off! It wiped off so easily and it all looked sparkly with no scrubbing at all - woohoo! Worked fantastically for my oven too. It's the first time I've been able to see through my oven door since we moved in almost 10 years ago . No oven cleaner has been able to do that!!
