Spring Cleaning!

What do you do?

Today I've cleaned and washed the inlet filter for the central heating unit.

Vacuumed the beds for mites and pillows too (in the process of washing doonas).

I will be:

Vacuuming all light fightings, exhaust fans.

Move the big pieces of furniture that don't get moved regularly because they can't be moved by one person during normal clean (TV unit, beds, Fridge, Dishwasher, washing machine, dryer etc) and vacuum/mop.

I like to give my aircon filters a good clean just before summer kicks in.

I'll also be bleaching all the toilet seats in the laundry sink over the next few weeks.

Nope I've done it for years, I think there's a thread around here somewhere. It's also good to take them off and clean under the screws... you don't realise what gets under there

DH did the bathroom on the weekend, he even got down and scrubbed the grout on the floor! I washed all the walls in the main living area and hallway. I've been making a daily list, a few little jobs and one major job. This week it is decluttering our study.

What do you use to wash your walls? Mine are terrible!

I've resorted the linen cupboard. Thrown out anything old and sad looking. Cleaned the windows. Need to do the fans and the air con ducts. We've also sorted our our spare room and moved all the baby things out of DD's room and into the spare room cupboard.

It really is best to use Sugar Soap. Bleach is ok though for the odd mark.

Sugar soap! It gets off all the grotty finger marks from the little people in the house...haven't had any luck removing a nice big purple pen line down the hallway wall though lol....

I hate those. I used to have one in a rental and replaced it with a white plastic one. I thought it was unhygienic, especially as it cracked. I probably should have asked permission. I almost always replace the toilets seats in a rental when I move in. It's not like anyone will notice.

It's a good list Rouge. I shall need to make my own. I dont even know where the heating/air con filters are.

I have moved all my furniture around and dusted & cleaned.

I'm going to be cleaning the kitchen, bathroom, toilet & laundry on the weekend. Did a scrub of the veranda on the weekend.

Also on the weekend I'm going to do the windows.

I started yesterday! Moved all the furniture in the lounge and vacc / dusted walls and floors. Got behind the TV cabinet and vacc ed all the dust bunnies. Took off some of flywire screens and washed them in the shower, hoping to get some of the curtains washed today.

Also been working on DDs room (ready for her to move in), stickers on wall, windows cleaned, want to wash the walls down too.
