I have moved all my furniture around and dusted & cleaned.
I'm going to be cleaning the kitchen, bathroom, toilet & laundry on the weekend. Did a scrub of the veranda on the weekend.
Also on the weekend I'm going to do the windows.
I hate those. I used to have one in a rental and replaced it with a white plastic one. I thought it was unhygienic, especially as it cracked. I probably should have asked permission. I almost always replace the toilets seats in a rental when I move in. It's not like anyone will notice.
It's a good list Rouge. I shall need to make my own. I dont even know where the heating/air con filters are.
I started yesterday! Moved all the furniture in the lounge and vacc / dusted walls and floors. Got behind the TV cabinet and vacc ed all the dust bunnies. Took off some of flywire screens and washed them in the shower, hoping to get some of the curtains washed today.
Also been working on DDs room (ready for her to move in), stickers on wall, windows cleaned, want to wash the walls down too.
Have just started - cleaned the pergola and surrounding house concrete and driveway and washed the outside windows. Have cleaned out the linen closet and my craft cupboard and moved furniture to vaccum!
I'm not going to go nuts on spring cleaning this house as we are moving in a few weeks (fingers crossed), but I will have to spring clean the next one as we move in (another rental). Even though the rental lady assures me the lady moving out will have it Clean!
I have been in the process of decluttering for a while, so not sure if it falls under spring cleaning. And as for taking the toilet seat off and cleaning under the screws, blegh! It's vile! Good luck everyone, keep up the good work!
Top idea Tash....might splash out on one today lol.
Mine involves a lot of outside stuff - I've weeded all the paths and around the pool, cleared away leaves (DP is set to get up on the roof and clean the gutters and trim a vine that has gone a bit nuts this weekend). Today I'm starting on getting the pool ready for summer. Fly screen to be fixed on the back door. Vegies to be planted in the garden for summer.
Inside - I am sorting out DD1's winter clothes that won't fit next year and they'll be going into vacuum bags in storage. She needs a new chest of drawers so that we can pull out all the baby clothes. I will wash those (may as well be prepared early!). I also have to wash and clean all DD's baby gear - bath, high chair, seat covers, etc. Anyone got tips for getting mould off a vinyl seat cover? It's only on the edges which are fabric.
I think we'll also get the carpets cleaned in the next month or so.
My office needs a really big tidy and a complete filing system overhaul. *Groan*
cleaning the extractor fans and covers in the bathrooms and laundry. cleaning all the window frames and runners, inside and out. dusting the bookshelves. going through every single cupboard, cleaning them, and sorting everything out. the garage. the attic. cobwebbing outside and doing any neglected pruning. and weeding. cleaning the letter box. washing the curtains and cleaning the blinds. then the nitty gritties: redoing the budget, reorganising bookshelves and filing cabinets, creating new files and doing any backups required, sorting out drawers, sorting out or getting rid of any "too hard basket" things. etc.
I just cleaned inside the door of my dishwasher... you know the side bit where the drips happen...
Can I just sayYou can tell I've been in a rutt for the last 8 months... *shudder*
Gonna get out the old sock and lemon oil today and do all the skirtings.
and under the fridge.
Is the lemon oil for spiders and ****ies Rouge? Do you find it works well?
Funny you mention the dishwasher door...was only thinking about that last night.
Have done the AC filters, all the fans, the IXLtastic in the bathroom this morning. Can't get the toilet seat off though. Wish DH was closer.
AbsolutelyBest natural insect repellant ever!
I struggle to find lemon oil down here. Where is the best place? Health shop or chemist?
Can you use a lemon essential oil?
I did around the door to our dishwasher when it broke recently and I have the unscrew the whole bit... OMGosh it's disgusting... almost as bad as the toilet seat - at least I don't but my dinner plates near that!
Essential or Essence? What I have is Essential oil. I got it from Vic Markets from the Essential oil guy. You can buy it in bulk online. I'd go with something that's as natural as possible.
LOL @ Dinner plates near the toilet...
I can't get lemon oil here either so I'll have to try online.
I do have a new toilet seat thoughHowever I was a bit disappointed, there was nothing gross under the screws....I do poor copious amounts of boiling water all over the loo every week, so maybe that washes it all away.
Tops of the light fittings are all clean too as is the dishwasher door, and the brass fittings in the bathroom polished.
I've also had to do extra after DS got hold of the Brasso and splashed it everywhere....man it splashes. ANd since i had to clean it up as fast as I could (and get DD to wash DS's arms), I'm a bit pooped now lol.
Tomorrow the venetians are getting a bath.
Wow ladies, I need someo f your energy and cleaning mojo...I just gave my bath a bath...that is a propper scrub as well as doing the tiles around it with some gumption. I need to get into the showers too!
