Vinegar as fabric softner ... A question here ,-)

I don't know if I do it right, but I put it in the softner section of the washing machine.
(instead of the softner)

Your machine sounds (in comparsion to mine) much more complicated.

Thanks ladies for your help ... I've never used fabric softener before so that's why i don't know which rinse cycle to put it into (??) ... i do have a fabric softener compartment to put it so know where to put it just don't know when !! ... Any suggestions (i just don't want my sheets smelling like a fish 'n chips shop, LOL)

I have a fabric softener compartment that adds it automatically to the last rinse before the last spin ITMS.
Shouldn't smell vinegar-y but if you are worried you can add some essential oils, I love lavendar & citrus, like lemon oils in with mine.
