What do you do and how often do you do it???

Since our cat bought a delightful flea infestation into my house i have been forced to vacum every day, this is not something i normally do, i might sweep the kitchen every day, but the whole house gets done once a week.....i was complaining to my mum and she commented on how she vacums the whole house every day!!!!
But then she thinks im very strange cause i wash the bed linen every week...i think she does her every other week!

im curious...What do you do and How often do you it?

Vacuum every 2 days or DD gets to substitute her diet too much, linen once a week in summer and once a fortnight in winter. Mop whole house once a week, Bathroom scrubbed every 3 days (DP's a mechanic so it gets black!), Dishes every morning, dusting once a week or the Kalgoorlie dust stains, 1 load ofwashing every day or 2 if nappies included.

I vacuum and mop once a week (we have tiles everywhere except for the bedrooms). I vaccum or sweep through the week as the floor needs it - or when it gets to a point that I can't stand the mess anymore. With three toddlers, I could easily vacuum three or four times a day . I clean bathrooms once a week (unless they need it more often which they seem to during toilet training ). I wash towels twice a week - I only wash them once a week really but I put fresh towels out every 3 days or so and we wash our bedsheets once a week. Twice a year, I do my windows, screens and window tracks and once a year I sugar soap all my walls. Other than those things I spot clean.

OK, I meant to pop in and say this isn't true, but forgot

    Vacuum weekly.
Sweep when the floor is annoying me - sometimes this is three times in one day, sometimes it's every second day.
Mop when it seems to need it, which isn't very often. Spot clean spills
Make the bed most days (lately hasn't been every day, not much point when I get so tired from making it that I have to hop in for a nap)
    Clean the toilet every day
Clean the shower once a week

I haven't done much for months now! With being pregnant and then having a newborn what I do has been cut back dramatically. I guess in my mind (not sure if I actually am doing it as much now) I change the sheets once a week, wash towels a couple of times a week, do other washing every day almost unless it's raining but will still wash if the clothes are needed and I'll use the drier. I used to vac & mop 2 x a week now I'd be lucky if it's done once a week, we don't wear shoes inside and manage to keep it pretty clean, I'll have to get off my butt and pick up my act in that department as clean floors are my domestic must have! bathrooms get a quick once over weekly, sometimes more and showers a good scrub maybe once a month otherwise it's a quick wipe over with the rest of the bathroom. Windows maybe once a year lol they seem to stay clean (or maybe I don't notice) kitchen is done daily and ummmm I think that's about it.

    Ok I'm the grottiest.

I can't remember the last time I vacummed... I think it was last month... but we've been away. I only mop once a month, if that. I sweep as necessary... maybe twice a week, maybe twice a month.... usually only before friends come over. (BTW does anyone other than me still sweep with a broom? LOL)

I'm better with linen: sheets weekly. We all use top sheets but I wash the doona covers once a season.

My excuse for all that is that we have the most amazing wooden floor boards. They camouflage dirt like you wouldn't believe! It's all through the house except bedrooms and lounge.... and wet areas where it's tiled.

I clean the bathroom as needed... maybe once a month.

When we lived in our last house, which was almost brand new, I spent A LOT more time cleaning. We had white tiles through the main living areas and every smudge and crumb showed and would annoy me... so I mopped nearly every night and once a week got down on my hands and kness with some Gumption and an old toothbrush and scrubbed the grouting. The carpet also used to show up the dirt and foot prints along the high traffic areas too... our current older carpet doesn't look much different post vacuum except minus the dirt... previously I think i used to vacuum to get rid of the foot impressions!!! What a waste of electricity! Lord knows how I had the time... ah... that's right! It was before I discovered BB! hehe Oh and I was working part-time and studying... so cleaning was a MUCH higher priority that doing assignments!

I sweep my floors at least once a day, sometime more (my windows have no screens, so I end up with all sorts of things on my floors). Vacuum once a week. Mop once a fortnight.

Make the bed every morning and change my linen every weekend.

Bathroom is done once a fortnight and kitchen benches are done every night, although stove and sink are done every couple of days.

I vacuum every 2-3 days especially around kitchen/dining area. I mop once a week, make beds every day, do bathrooms once a week and clean toilets once-twice a week depending on useage. I dust once a week and change bed linen around once every 3 weeks. Usually at least one load of washing per day whether that be clothes or other items, towels etc and change our towels twice a week.

yeah I vaccuum/mop maybe once a month. we have shiny floorboards that camoflage dirt as well. I probably do it only because I go to bed with dirty feet after walking on the floor all day. Bed sheets though, fortnightly or every week and a half. Dirty sheets get on my nerves.

I sweep everyday, vacuum once a week, dishes are always done, beds are always made. Washing is done as the machine fills up, bathrooms..well I wipe the bench each time I use it, so probably do them properly fortnightly or so. But the oven.......hardly ever never ever!!!!! Our house is 14 squares living, so none of this takes too long. I'm not great with sheets, because I hate going to bed with crisp cold sheets.....unless its a hotel room of course

JM - I must try sugar soap on my walls. The marks drive me batty - where I've cleaned smudges off you can always see the wipe marks.

I never used to use it at all, but I have hand prints and food smears all over my walls around the same height. The door frames get particularly bad because the kids must hold onto them as they turn the corner.

I look around daily and think to myself that my house will never be as clean as I want it!
I think this too. I can't keep up with the mess ... they make it faster than I can clean it. I have an amazing DH who does a lot of our cleaning as well so it is not just my responsibility thank goodness.

I never cleaned as much as I do now before I had kids. I worked before so no-one used our house much 5 out of every 7 days. Now there are 4 of us here all the time. I clean out of necessity really but don't really get to enjoy living in a clean house.

    :yeahthat:

i have great intentions. but once DS is napping the draw of BB is usually too much

i try to do the dishes daily. never really make the bed - but we don't use a top sheet so making the bed only really means pulling the doona up! clean the toilets weekly...wipe the kitchen bench often...sweep the kitchen floor week. vacuum no where near as often as i should (although i do dustbust more often!).

    the washing gets done though

Vaccum & mop - every second day. Our floor gets quite gritty as Moo hates eating in his highchair, most meals and snacks he eats on the run! So I would love to do it everyday but the vac is so big and heavy I just can't be bothered. Hoping to get a good dust buster soon though which should help heaps!

Toilets - every week I think

Bathrooms & kitchen - every week, they all get a good clean but get tidied several times per day! I can't STAND clutter!

Linens - usually every week but with a shift working DH this might stretch out to a fortnight at times.

    Dusting - hmmm...

Washing - at least a load per day!
