Washing powder for cold water?

I agree with Lisa, it would be a good idea to perhaps try using a washing liquid instead of a powder.

Not sure what its like where you are, but i have been washing my clothes this time of year in warm water as the cold water in the pipes is really icey cold. We use Fab or Surf and havent had a problem disolving. We dont have allergy problems, but maybe trying warm water? My clothes have come out fine, not scrunk or colours run either.
