Who hangs their clothes on the line?

Always on the line, weather permitting. I find that there is something very therapeutic about hanging washing on the line, I really enjoy it!

I do however do a separate load of just socks and undies and I always use the dryer for them

Me too, I love the smell of clean washing and find it quite therapeutic too!

Hanging clothes making a comeback!? Wow I never realized it had gone out lol!
We only got a dryer last year and I try to only use it as a last resort. Our washing line is under cover so I often have a clothes horse outside that I can put out into the sun, especially for nappies.

Line in the warmer months, sometimes on the line in the colder months (if it is looking like a good day and I get it on early enough). Our line is partly shaded, which is great in summer, the clothes don't try too quickly, but a pain in winter except for it does help protect from some rain.

Clothes horse in front of the fire for winter. Dryer if I am getting overwhelmed, need something urgently, or if the item goes smelly if not dried quickly. I also use the dryer for work shirts and school dresses over winter, saves on ironing them.

Oh my, I'm a bit ashamed to admit it but I never hang clothes on the line Everything that can, goes in the dryer otherwise on the clotheshorse.

I do! We are in Melbourne and we don't own a dryer. Don't think we ever will because I don't see the point environmentally and financially, and as much as drying clothes in winter gives me the irits, we have ducted heating and the 2 massive clothes horses sit over the top. Just when I am at the end of rope with it all is when we get a few clear windy days like we have had this weekend and I catch up on towels and sheets and nothing makes me happier than getting stuff in and out in one day!

I hang mostly... usually under the patio roof to minimise fading (I have permanent lines set up)... I use the big clothesline in the yard for sheets and when it's not summer I'll use it if I have lots of washing (sun is way too hot in summer - fading - and also too hot to stand in and not get burnt haha)... jocks and socks usually in the dryer and towels are always dryer. Sometimes in winter if it's raining a lot and the clothes have been out (under the patio roof) for 2 days I'll pop them in the dryer to finish them off.

our washing machine recently broke, so went to town... a town that is the largest inland city in NSW...not a single laundromat exisits!!!

I rarely use the dryer. We hang clothes outside unless it's raining, and on the clothes horses inside if not. We're lucky in that we have enough room for 3 clothes horses, plus I use the doors to the kids playroom for sheets, doonas, etc. I'll pretty much do anything to avoid using the dryer.

Oh yes, nearly always! I hate drying things on the clothes horse, winter washing drives me nuts

This is tragic but I get great satisfaction seeing my clothes line full of washing It's in a great spot so it gets heaps of sun and breeze.

I tend to put all my towels in the dryer though so they stay fluffy.

Since having ds it's dryer or clothes horse. Our backyard is shady in winter and the volume of washing means I can't get everything dry without using the dryer. Ds also loves the sound (he nods off when it's on) so it's been getting a workout.

We have central heating but clothes still take over two days to dry inside. I hate it!! I am getting a gas fireplace installed soon, so that should help with drying inside.

Hanging washing outside in Melbourne is too risky for my liking. Nothing depresses me more than having to rewash clothes caught in the rain!!

I use the clothes line. I only use the drier if I am desperate.

Clothesline in summer, clothes airers in winter, I also have a hanging rack that all of my work clothes get hung on hangers - generally I don't need to iron them either!

Clothes dryer only gets used for sheets in winter if desperate, and I tumble my towels for 10 mins once dry to keep them fluffier so I don't need to use fabric softener.

We don't have a clothes line (the hills got taken out by a tree a couple of years before DH & I met, it still isn't replaced) but I got one of those "mrs peggs handy lines" out of the back of the gardening australia mag - it holds king sheets!!!! Today I was really enjoying watching the sheets & blankie billowing in the breeze, beautiful white! Then we had to change the stove to burn fast & smokeless! But .. we have central heating, and put one clothes horse in the bathroom (it gets up to 27deg in there!) and another in front of the fire (which we only burn on the weekends) and the handy line outside chasing the sun. Back when I had more access to the upstairs, I would put 3 clothes horses outside on the flat roof and hang the washing out there.

When it was rainy I'd only use the dryer, but now we have options it's all good I never understood the phrase "good drying day" until I moved to Melbourne!!!

If I am running behind in the washing, I'll throw stuff in the dryer.

I live in NQ so i dont nor do i know of anyone i dont think that owns a dryer haha. A full line dries in about an hour, but you have to remember it or that beautiful red shirt you put on at 7am will be pale pink come 3pm in summer lol

Clothesline. WE have adryer but its broken. It costs to much to run anyway. we have an airer inside for when its wet out, and it sits under a ducted heating vent.
Ive just rearranged the family rrom to get a second airer in under that vent as well.

DH doesnt like the washing being "on display" though and hides it if people come over and keeps putting the airers away, so sometimes things take a while to dry

(Bad weather in summer and the washing waits, winter then airers/radiators etc indoors.)
