SD - really interesting question.

For myself I would be absolutely delighted to have twins. I would be absolutely delighted to have one baby - or even siblings. I'd say most people receiving donations feel the same way.

Sometimes, yes, having a baby takes its toll on marriages, and on mental health. There are many examples of this on our forum.

However for most people, although times get tough, they manage to battle through. I know this from my mother's situation - she had 5 children, and although she loved us dearly there were times she would have happily traded us to the pixies!

I think the other issue is that the networks that my mother had (ie having her mother living in the next suburb) are not available to as many people these days. My mother has also made it very clear that she has raised her own children - she will not be available to raise mine.

Got some good news today - I've been told which school I'm going to. I gave them a call today and I'll be meeting with them next week. Looking forward to it!
