So I emailed her and she reckons she took the photos of the lamp 4 months ago and never got around to listing it until now. Her grandfather came over 4 weeks ago and cleaned out her shed without her knowing (who does that!) and the lamp was taken to the op shop and subsequently sold.
I told her that's fine but not really my problem and would be leaving her bad feedback. She got all in a huff with me and is disappointed that even though she tried to explain the situation I still want to the leave negative feedback blah blah....well I didn't get my lamp because she didn't bother to check on it before listing what does she expect!
who sells something without checking its still in your possesion!! i'd be so angry! I dont belive her story either...no one in my family would come clean out my shed and take stuff away with me knowing what they took.
In the past I have recieved a package months after I paid for the item, in this case I left neutral feedback with a negative comment briefly explaining what happened. I would personally do the same in your case as I could understand how this could happen however I would not be happy if I were the buyer. I always put myself in the other persons shoes and 'treat them as you would like to be treated', at least no money has been exchanged and in the long run no damage has been done. At least this experience will teach the seller something, 'to check that the item is in their possession and in the condition that they are listing' .
