Re: Applying for private schools: ELC, Primary or Secondary? Plus other questions
I have heard wonderful things about woodleigh. I would definitely be checking it out if we lived close enough. Ds1 is in grade 1 at a private school. He didn't do the elp there, he just went to the local kinder. Ds2 is currently in the 4yo elp and is loving it. In retrospect I wish we had put ds1 there.
Re: Applying for private schools: ELC, Primary or Secondary? Plus other questions
I think you need to clarify what it is you want for your child's education. What things count to you as a family:
onsite facilities and grounds?
range of extra curricular activities?
camps/travel opportunities?
subjects offered/curriculum style?
learning support/ flexibility of learning?
type of people who will be going to the school?
languages taught/immersion programs?
academic outcomes?
class size/school size?
disciplinary approach?
These are going to be different between schools (and I'm not suggesting that private is always better than public).
