DD1 goes to daycare one day a week and when I check their sheet of activities for the day, it always says she's had at least an hour's sleep, and until we get home she's great, but once we get home she's tired, cranky, and always crashes out earlier than her regular bedtime (she even went to bed without a bottle the other night!).
I think she just gets so much done at daycare, and has so much fun, that she could sleep for three hours and still manage to wear herself out by the time I pick her up!
DS1 never slept at day care until he went to the toddler room at 15 months where they all sleep at the same time. He was the first asleep every time from his first day in that room. We worked out that he wouldn't sleep in the baby room because the babies all sleep at different times and he didn't want to miss anything while his friends were awake![]()
DS2 - well, he is a sleeper so no problems with him usually - but every now and then he doesn't have a sleep at day care and I can tell from the moment I arrive at day care to pick him up!!
My tips - well I guess it depends a bit on your situation. With me, I am picking him up after work so usually he will be so tired he'll go straight to bed when we get home and fall asleep without dinner. He is a big eater and has usually eaten more during the day already than most kids eat in 2 days, so I don't worry too much about that. If it was earlier in the day, I might try putting him down for a cat nap, or otherwise do bath and dinner early, try and keep him settled with books or other quiet activities and then put him down early.
I am not sure how long she has been going to FDC, but you might find she will settle in there soon and fall back into her usual sleeping pattern.
yep every one at my sons fdc has a rest time and they all rest in same area no matter their ages my son is 4 and sometimes sleeps not always but at home he sleeps during day for about 1 hour - 2 unless he sleeps around 4pm then he would go whole night through.
