For anyone wondering Lyla started "school" today... She didn't even look back. I asked her to come and say goodbye, she just waved from where she was and said "Bye" i had to stay together. Chased her for a kiss got to the car and had a cry... I know she's going to have fun but i miss her

I think that the fact that she is telling you she wants to go is something you need to listen to. I know sometimes its hard to let your 'baby's go but really, DH is right in that socially it will be really good for her. do you go to playgroup or mother's group? cause thats also a good place to get her socialised.

I waited until my DS was 3 before he was put into pre school, but then i started working and put both kids into a long daycare/pre school and DD was 2 1/2. i thought DD would be really clingy and upset to leave me, but she absolutely loved it, had a ball and wanted to keep going back. that first day i think i was a bit upset that she didn't miss me LOL, but really in the end, it totally built up her confidence and brought her out of her shell.

I think your DD will have a blast at school.

my friend was very very adamant that she did not want to send her DS to childcare because she was very against. She was scared the carers will abuse him of some sort and that he will be very naughty and they wont know how to handle him. Unfortunately she had a major argument with her sister who was babysitting so sent her DS to school 2 days a week and then he loved it so much she sends him 3 days a week.

DD started at 2 years old and goes 1 day a week.

It really depends on the childcare centre as well, go to one you have a good vibe about and you will then have trust in your carers.
