How old was your child when you put them in daycare/kindy/occasional care?

Jack started just before he turned 2. He goes one day a week. He has loved it from day 1.

Jazz goes to Kindy one day a week, started last week at 2.5yo. She loves it so far

I am working FT and my partner stays at home and I don't know about her but I don't feel selfish, she had a great time and my partner had a day to study and do some stuff she wanted to do, and I got my baby girl close to me (I work in the room next to hers hehe), so it was a win for us all! Well, except for my wallet

FWIW, my sons both started Family Day Care at 12 weeks of age. Yes you did read "weeks" not "months". Something to do with my XH not being able to earn enough $$ for me to stay home... he kept getting fired...

And don't worry, we all have those moments of "awwww, my baby is growing up" - be gentle with yourself and I bet she came running to give you a big hug when you went to pick her up *grin*

unfortunately she didn't do the run up for a cuddle but watching how much she enjoyed herself really helped. When we got there she was in the sandpit "making cakes" i went and crouched down next to her and asked what she was doing she told me "Making cake castles" when i told her it was time to go i got "no me stay. Ok Mummy?" cutie! apparently she fit right in and was really good. My baby is growing up... too fast!

I'm so glad she's enjoying it- better to be in the situation where she loves being there and fitting in with no 'need' to go, than 'needing' to have to go to daycare and her absolutely hating it.

She sounds like she's having a ball- now it's time for you to start planning some 'you' time as well!
