I have watched some Disney movies in class but it is part of a teaching unit of work (the same with taped tv programs).
However, this is not a regular occurrence. I teach high schoolers in a variety of subjects.

I think disney movies are inappropriate at school for young children because then it's really just glorified babysitting IMO. They would only be okay on say the last day of term when the kids are in "wind down to holidays" mode.

But I think some TV shows can have some benefit as they are short and can lead into classroom discussions/work afterwards. We used to watch Beyond the News when I was in primary school.

I show my kids at BTN meow - now you are making me feel old

Unless as PP's mentioned it is linked directly to the curriculum and there is some sort of study done on it, or else if it was the last day of term I would be asking about why this is happening, definitely should not be a regular occurrence.
