    Another thread.

I think I've rewritten this over 10 times already so I think this will be the last time I try, sorry for writing another thread on this.

I'm Kate, I'm a 16 year old Network Engineering student.
I was always told that period pain was normal I've been suffering from bad periods since I was 12. I ignored it, I've taken pain killers upon pain killers but when since 14 I have been doing correspondence high school so I was able not to move every month so It wasn't too bad, it got too bad and decided to attempt to fix it, that this pain wasn't normal.
    I went to a doctor and we tried;
mefenamic acid, pain killers (iburofen and panadine forte) and various other medicines.
I'm currently on tramal which is an opiate based drug meant for cancer patients.

I get to the stage where I can't move, that even with drugs I'm still crying and feeling like I'm being kicked. It's gotten bad, where I'm getting pain when I don't have my periods.
Any advice, anything really is appreciated.

I went to a gyno, I got diagnosed with pcos and endometriosis.
It's been incredibly hard for me.
My partner, Nick. We've been together for a year and living together for 10 months.
My mother (who I live with) tries, but she seems to think that it's one of those things I can shrug off.
My father (who I don't live with), he is a good man and although he and I have never been close, this sadly has made us closer. He has been incredible, when I told him he started crying and asked if he was going to have grandkids.

This is the hardest thing I've ever had to done, I'm so confused, I really have no idea what to do. I don't know what I want to accomplish from posting this...

    Hi Kate,

i have been diagnosed with PCOS and Endo as well...was diagnosed at 18 and i got engaged. not because i wanted children but because i fell in love.
my mother did the same as yours and ignored it...because she didnt know what it was and my father did the same. i sort of know what your going through with the family.
    Here are my tips...
    1. Write down how you feel and speak to your doctor and someone you feel will help you through this (your dad?)
    2. might be a good idea to see a councilor for Stress Management- anxiety etc.
    3. Read about diet and light exercise, accupuncture and chinese herbs.
    4. Discuss this with your Nick...be open and honest about how you feel and how he feels.
    5. Read about the conditions and always go armed with questions to your gyno i.e. what are my chances of falling preg, do i have a time limit, how bad is the endometriosis and where is it located, should i have a laparoscopy, will the Pill help (i'm on Dianne 32ed), look into hormone therpy (i'm on Cyperteron) to give you options for pain relief and fertility.

understandably your confused and this is a very difficult time for you and i'm sorry to hear that your going through such a hard time at a young age.
You probably dont have much money being a student so Tramal is cheaper for the time being but look into other options. (i was on Tramal for years as well).
    hope this sort of helps.

    Have you had a laparoscopy?

    mehza786, I haven't had surgery yet it's being organized.
My dad I don't speak to much, but my mother has been threatening to kick me out due to me wanting to leave college until next year because of the time I've had off.
light exercise is hard due to the pain.
dieting I can't do because of my asthma and allergies.
I've tried acupuncture - it lasts for 3 hours then fades away.
Chinese medicine I can't have due to allergies.
