    Hi Virgo,

I had endo most of my life but it remained undiagnosed until I started TTC. I began seeing Dr Hale and he did the laparoscopy which gave us the definite diagnosis as it had only been suspected up until that point. After the lap, we continued trying for six months using artificial insemination (no other intervention). When that didn't work, we did our first IVF cycle. This cycle gave us our son, now two months old and screaming his head off in an adjoining room =)

I had lesions all over my reproductive organs and elsewhere but no adhesions. The major symptoms I experienced were spotting (once just premenstrual but eventually all month long) and shocking cramps at period time.

I know a couple of people who have fallen pg while having endo. One was a girl I worked with whose endo was quite severe actually (she had major adhesions). As for exact figures, I couldn't help you there as it seems to be such an individual thing and I only really have my own limited experience and anecdotal evidence from others on which to base my assessment.

Dr Hale explained to me after the lap that the six months after the operation gave us the best chance of conceiving. I hope this happens for you ... just remember that with infertility that has a known cause (like ours) you have a fantastic chance of succeeding once that cause has been eliminated.

Best of luck! Email me if you'd like to chat.

I was diagnosed with severe endo via lapraoscopy at age 22, and then had another follow up lapraoscopy as I was bleeding mid cycle at 24. I feel pregnant with my 1st child 4 mths after my 2nd lapraoscopy naturally (just came of the pill), and went on to have another child at 27, also naturally conceived (after 4mths trying) and I am now pregnant with our 3rd who was also naturally conceived after 0 months of trying. This one was a bit of a surprise.

    Hi there

See if you can get Magics attention too, she has had severe endo like myself and has one IVF bub and a suprise natural conception on the way....

I was diagnosed last november after a failed IVF attempt. and it has taken 3 operations to get rid of it, including removal of part of my bladder and a full bowel resection (20 cm of bowel), suprisingly my surgeon Dr Michael Cooper, said it shouldn't be a problem having children, and has sent me away for 12 months to try otherwise it will be back onto IVF! Endo is a funny thing as the worse it is and then when it is treated you have a better chance of conception than someone with mild or mod endo....all the best and take each day at a time, as there are lots of girls who are living proof that it does happen and more often than not!!!

    Leis xx

    PS who was your surgeon??????

thanks girls! melbo whats your email? well i just had my first cycle of the pill and have started af yesterday but for some reason it's not at painful asd it usually is so i'm hoping thats a good sign for this cycle...my doc was doc hubezenco i think thats how you spell it from lyell mac it was meant to be doc duggan as i have spoke to him but there was a last minute change and only met him in the room. They said that they couldn't remove mine as i was to dangerous and it's all over one side of my ovaries and fallopian tube with lots of scare tissue and a live wound, but my other side is working fine.

Virgobabe. Dr Duggan was my surgeon for both my Lapraoscopies. If you can get a referral to him, he works at Europa Medical Clinic one day a week as well. He is a fantastic surgeon and I highly recommend him.

Kerry, I think that's my fault ... I'm just about to fix it so check again in a couple of minutes.

    Cheers (and sorry)

A few minutes later ... Okay I've fixed it up. When you click on my username, go to View Public Profile and there is an option under my avatar which says "Download v card" or similar. If you click on that, it will give you my email address.

The only reason I don't want to type it in here is because of those nuisance bots which patrol the internet, looking for addresses to spam. =)) Otherwise I would have just typed it right into the forum.

    Hope that works for you.

    Hi Virgo ,

sorry I have only just seen your post!. I have endo which has left me with only one tube. My fertility specialist cleaned it all up ( well what he could) and told me I would need to start inseminationa and then IVF as the chance of me falling pregnant was so so so low. Anyway I was all prepared and waiting for my cycle to finish and start treatment but that never happened as I feel pregnant!. You should have seen the shock on his face...hehehe. So even with 1 tube , Endo and DH having less them perfect swimmers we got there....fingers crossed you do do .
