    Hi there,

I've been reading your thread and I'm on my first cycle of clomid too! (I have PCOS) I finished my 5 days of clomid 5 days ago and had a blood test day 9 and an ultrasound on day 11 with another blood test (that was yesterday). Was really disappointed to find that my ovaries looked pretty much the same as before - lots of follicles but all the same size, but endometrium was thin, even though my oestrogen was 800. I wasn't really prepared for how devastated I was that it doesn;t look like it's working. Your head tells you one thing but your heart and emotions tell you another- I had really high hopes and really thought it as going to work. Have another blood test tomorrow so we'll see what happens.

Anyway, just thought I'd add my two cents and say GOOD LUCK with your cycles and really hope that it's successful!! I know what you're going through!

    Best wishes,

    LS

My first cycle of Clomid was tracked via regular blood tests. Once the blood work showed I was going to ovulate I got a phone call from the nurse at the FS office and basically told to go home and 'go for it!'

Hey Gizzmo - Oh my goodness, so many blood tests! You must be walking around looking like a sieve lol.

Sorry I didnt post yesterday but the BB site was down ??? Anyways that great news your levels are staying up. I have been testing but still no . This cycle definately feels different though. Normally this early on i get no symptoms but after finishing the clomid and its after effects (angry ciolent mood swings oh and the bloating is easing) i have been cramping something chronic and feel really stiff in that area which is not normal..so i am praying this means there is some action on those ovaries of mine.

Macca - Hello did your OB or FS order those blood tests? Or did you ask for them? Damn i wish i was getting some tests so i new more, the only testing i am getting is what i am doing myself at home. After all this time you would think i would have some what of a better understanding but still i am just taking a stab in the dark (literally) lol

Hi Lyra - Welcome, sounds like you and i finished our clomid on the same day. So that makes you, me & Gizzmo all neck and neck for . This is exciting! Make sure you keep Gizzmo and I posted on your experiences and progress Stay positive you never know. I have no idea about oestrogen levels or what mine is, the OB has never mentioned it to me. Are you seeing an OB or FS? If this round doesnt work for me i am going to go back and ask for all these tests that you guys are getting. It sounds like a more comprehensive and logical process than my lottery attempt. I hope everything works out for you, good luck!

Musik - Did you end up getting your referral? If so did you manage to get an appt anywhere in the near future? Fingers crossed you did.

ASF - Nothing to do but LH testing now, just waiting for . I miss taking the clomid, i felt like i was in control for once and actually actively playing a conscious role. Oh well 9 hrs to go until my next test .

Hello and good luck to anyone i have missed...I am glad we can share this journey together.
Thinking positive thoughts for you all

Kiki: Saw the doc yesterday, no referral yet as I need to talk to the place nearby which takes private patients but they are not there till tomorrow, but she said no worries on writing it just need to find out where and what FS I will see. Is all going good though, still gonna try for a BFP this cycle anyway, who knows with these things eh Best of luck for your BFP too! I am so happy to have found this site because I have not told any family we are trying again!

    Angry Very disappointed

Hi Kiki, Gizzmo and all other clomid sisters!

Well, my oestrogen has gone down not up today so they're not even bothering to do another ultrasound and are saying the clomid's not working. My FS says I need FSH injections next but I can't get an appointment to see him until end of November and the we're going away in December so it probably won't happen until next year.... aaaagh. Am so devastated and again, wasn;t prepared for how I felt when they told me today. I really believed that the clomid would work... there seemed to be so many stories of it working first time!

I really hope that your cycles are going better than mine.

Anyone have any experience of FSH injections with PCOS?

Lots of luck and good wishes ,
    LS

Kiki- sorry didn't answer your question. Yes I am seeing a FS and it seems that they do much more monitoring with the clomid which lets you know exactly whats going on. From what I've read the success rate is higher with monitoring becasue you know exactly when you need to have sex - although if you're covering your bases in that department then I'm sure it's fine. The other thing is you will know if you have lots of follicles and have high chance of multiples so you have more control. Maybe if you're not successful after a couple of cycles you should go to a FS?? Hopefully you won't need though... Not sure why specialists seem to do it so differently. Anyway, good luck!

    Sorry

    Hi Lyra,
I am so sorry to hear your news
I dont know what to say, but I know how devastating it is.
Keep your spirits high, keep practising and go out and enjoy the festive season. Now that you are not UTD you can indulge in a few Xmas ****tails

I am feeling a little disheartened now because i have all my hopes pinned on Clomid working for us this month too, I will be just as devastated as you when it doesnt work for me. This is the only month we can try as my DH is away for work for next 6 months!! So if it doesnt work this month I will have to try all over again next year back at the beginning of another 3 month cycle on Clomid. (Sorry to add in my own distress at your time of need)

I have a friend that has PCOS (and some other girlly thing i can't remember) and they were TTC naturally for 5 years!! Her condition wasnt improving and she was doing everything the doctors said. Because of her case she couldnt try any fertility drugs because she had to get her situation under control first. After so many years they put having a baby on the back burner and booked a massive dream holiday to south america. Spent months saving and paying it off. 2 months before they were suppossed to fly out she found out she was pregnant No drugs, no intervention, it just happened.

So hang in there, what will be will be. Thinking of you and sending you all my positive energy

    Hey everyone

Musik: Yeh I have my blood test @ 8am and then phone up @ 4pm to get my results. That siuts me great.

Lyra: Oh no, I am so sorry to hear that. Try and keep you head up high and stay positive

Kiki: I had another blood test today and my estreogon is high (not sure what figure exactly, I forgot to ask). I have to go into the clinic (about an hour drive north) tomorrow morning. I have to get up @ 5am
I will then have a blood test first thing, then an internal ultrasound ouch
I then have to have my HCG6 trigger. They said if my eggy is big enough I will have the IUI on Sunday, if not I will be ovulating on Monday and will go in again
    How exciting.
    How's everything going with you?????
    I will keep u posted.

    Goodluck girlies

I was also given some tablets thinggy's (internal ones as well. sorry if too much info

that will thicken up my uterus.
The Dr said I have a very good looking womb lol

    Yeah Ovulation

Hey Gizzmo - It looks like i am finally ovulating. I did my opk @ 11pm last night and got a positive result, then did another one this morning @ 8.30am and got a blaring positive straight away! I am so glad i started BDing Friday night. I think we (DH & I) have actually managed to co-ordinate our hard work with we have

I am feeling very positive because finally my BBT, CM, OPK, Maybe Baby are all telling me the same things at the same time. If i dont catch this this time, i dont know what else i can do!

Good luck for your IUI!!! Not sure which day you ended up getting called in. This is so exciting, fingers crossed we could be UTD together

Well I better stop getting excited, disappointment is easier to deal with if your a pessimist lol.

Good luck, look forward to hearing from you

Hey Kiki- sorry if my bad news made you feel disheartened. It sounds like things are all positive though and going well. And gizzmo- glad to hear all is going well too!

I was wondering if you guys had any cycles normally or if you had none (like me) I've read that clomiphene sometimes has less success if women who have no cycles at all, but FSH often works. Here's hoping.

Frustrated with waiting but felling a bit more positive about the whole thing now. Everything happens for a reason.

    Anyway, good luck!

    Cycles

    Hi Lyra,

To answer your question (if i have interpreted it right), I have never had 2 cycles the same. I have done my BBT charts for years on and off and still i get confused what is happening where & when. my cycles range from 28 days (once in a blue moon) to 45 days long. I can never plan in advance because i just dont know when it is going to fall.
Some months i chart and i am sure i have ovulated but i havent, i have had a couple of Progesterone tests but have never managed to have one scheduled on the right day, so we never get a reliable result.
I have had the internal ultra sound and that test where they put dye through your tubes, but tests came back positive. I had a number of good size follicles, good blood flow, nice lining etc, so by all accounts there is no reason i shouldnt be working. DH has had his test and he passed with flying colours. So apparently we are one of those minor percentage of couples that have unexplained infertility. That just drives me nuts because we are treated like we don't need assistance, but clearly we do because it has been years of temping and timing and trying any lotion & potion that says will get us UTD.
I tried going to a naturopath at one stage and spent $$$$$ on pills and herbs for both DH & I, but while i felt healthier, hair & nails stronger etc, i think it threw out my cycle even more.

Sorry i have prattled on a bit, but that fills you in on my situation and where we are at. One thing i have found that has helped me make sense of my cycle is the website fertility friend. I sat down the other day and entered a few of my charts in and it spat out what my fertile dates were etc and they seem to be right this month. It really surprised me because that is not the date that i had picked as my fertile days. It made it easier having that interpret my chart because i obviously had no idea what i was doing.

Thats enough from me, hope your all well

    Hey Kiki,
Its so so hard niot to get excited. Well I went in on Monday so I am now officially on my 2WW. Got 12 days until my blood test. Which means you should have to do your around the ssame time
I have to take progesteon internally( sorry if too much info) to thicken my uterus even though it is thickening on its own. Just to make sure.
I dont feel any different, just hoping cause i think we may have a break for around 3/4 months if its not worked this time.
How are you feeling anyway Mrs Kiki lol
    Talk soon

    Fingers Crossed

    Hey Gizzmo,
What a coincidence you posted, I had a dream about you last night! I had a dream you were telling me you were 2.5 weeks pregnant!! Fingers crossed I have untapped psychic abilities and i am predicting your future

This two weeks is the hardest of my life. Today i am 3dpo and it feels like an eternity. I am on an emotional rollercoster, i think i am, i cant be, i think i am , i cant be.
My temps have spiked and are above the cover line so far but i live in fear of them dropping. I have no faith in my progesterone, man i wish i had some of your drugs

I think you might be my doppleganger, we take clomid @ the same time, we ovulate @ the same time and we too are taking a (forced) break from trying for at least the next 4-6 months if this doesnt work. You must be my sister separated at birth

    Fingers crossed, keep me posted
