Hi Brooke,

I have endo and adeno also - I'm 25.

I have a few posts here with my experiences but I'll try to keep it short this time

I had a lap in April 08 and had most of the endo cut out, and was put on the combined pill + primolut to stop periods altogether. This worked well for the endo, however it was at this stage when I realised I was still having pain when I shouldn't be. I had an ultrasound which showed a very bulky uterus - and an MRI confirmed that i had adeno.

I had a Mirena inserted in Nov 08 which only seemed to make it worse (apparently this helps some people). I have been prescribed painkillers which did not work (tramadol, meloxicam, brufen, ponstan, panadeine forte).

I have been told that the only way to fix the problem is hysterectomy however I am not ready for children but I do want to start a family within a few years.

Yesterday I was prescribed Lyrica which is a drug for nerve pain I believe. My mum has had much success with this previously for various conditions. I am yet to try it but I'm hoping for the best as it seems to be the only option at the moment.

I've been told by a few specialists in the know that it shouldn't really affect fertility.

So much for keeping this post short

Best of luck - I'm in the same position and know how you feel!!!!
