I would definitely be getting a new doc - for me feeling comfortable with the doc is the first important thing when deciding to do this op. I could've waited for the public system, but the fact that I wouldn't have a clue who would do the op was my decider for paying to go private (that and a HUGE waiting list).
My doc is just lovely and gentle and caring and takes time to answer your questions - even though he is very clearly super busy, I've never felt rushed out of his office.
My mum had a surgeon when she had her hystorectomy - many years ago so big op then, who she remembers being cranky they were running late before the op in the theatre, having a disagreement or whatever with someone in the theatre. mum ended up losing both ovaries - because they bled, wasn't supposed to happen like that but she feels the surgeons mood was part of the reason behind that happening.
