Hi Clare. Wow, thats fantastic to hear that you've been having a uneventful time with the endo. Gives me a little hope!
Chris - I've had such a stressful time lately. Had bleeding pretty much every week since 8 weeks... and this last couple of days it seems like its happening more often and more in quantity. So, its really all too much right now. I've called the anti natal clinic that has been seeing me, and the midwife I spoke to was no help at all. I got soo upset on the phone that I had to put DP on. The midwife told us to go to emergency, which i am not doing seeing as i've spent way too much time there. All I want is an ultrasound or for them to use the dopler.
I'm really disappointed at the level of care the anti natal centre at the public hospital gives. They really don't seem to care. I've called the Early Pregnancy Centre which is at the hospital, where I've been before, and just waiting for them to call back. I'm also considereing calling the Birth Centre where I had a tour to see what the midwifes there say, seeing as they seemed really nice.
The midwife at the anti natal clinic even told me to go to my GP?! I'm not doing shared care, so I don't understand why they won't take responsibility for my care and see me. Sooooo frustrating! :wall:
What do you ladies think about hiring a Dopler? I've considered it, but i'm scared that if I don't get the hang of it, and can't find a heartbeat, that it would be a lot more stressful.
Arrggg. Sorry for the sulky post. I'm just soooo frustrated right now, and don't know what to do. I feel like i'm trying really hard to take it easy, but my body just doesn't want to behave.
Oh, and Chris, good to see you're on the home stretch!! Soo excited for you

Hi D,
I'm sorry to hear that you have been having such a hard (and scary!) time. how insensitive of the hospital staff. i hate it when they treat you like some number in a queue. yes, they see pregnant women all the time and they see all sorts of stuff so it's easy for them not to feel frightened or scared. but for us mummas' is scares the bejeezus out of us; especially when we have been struggling with endo. we know that our bodies have had a journey to get to this point and having a baby means something different and more intrinsic IMO.
I really hope that you get some answers, or some decent support! is there anyway that you can hire a private midwife or a doula? not sure if this is up your alley or an option, but maybe it could be a good way to barrack for your rights and needs. i know that i'll def go down that path next time. and hey, why not try the doppler?? i was sooooo tempted too!!
big

starting the journey
Hi everyone
this thread is a great idea.
my journey has just started and already i feel like i've been on an emotional rollercoaste ride.
i had the dye test done last week, with minamal success (and loads of pain). next week i'm due to have my lap. I'm feeling out of my depth, and have never been so sad! i never thought falling pregnant would be so hard and emotionally draining.
I have a really great husband, has been a real rock, but sometimes you need to hear about other people experiences.

Hi girls
Dee: Your nearly half way!!!! That is soooo good. I had bleeding on and off till I was 24 weeks pregnant. Plus I had a small bleed at 30 weeks.
Is it heavy or just when you wipe?? Could you have thrush as it can cause bleeding (even enough to spot on a liner).
Cassius : I am glad to hear that Af was good to you. I hope she is gentle next visit.
KLT: Hi your in the right place here. We have been through alot with our struggles with endo. Every girls story is different. I am preg with my 3rd bub now, so don't let any Dr tell you that it can't be done. I found out that I had endo when I was 20 and didn't fall preg untill I was 35, but I did fall preg. Good luck!! I hope your journey is a short one.
AFM: I am nearly there!! Sick and tired of bed rest  Its my BP that is playing up at the moment. I am trying to stay out of hospital by going to the daystay unit instead to be monitered.
Take care
Chris

oh my goodness Chris!! you are SO close! My girl was born at 38 weeks...so by my books that is very very close!
good luck with it all...on the home stretch now!
KLT: welcome! i'm sorry that you also have to deal with endo, and that yeah, getting pregnant has a whole new meaning for us girls...
it's great news though that it has been identified and that you guys are managing to do something about it. like Chris said, i think we have all been told that getting pregnant will be near impossible, but we have defied them!!
Good luck with the lap. i've never had one, so i can't give any advice on that one, but many of the girls in here have had them, and they have helped enormously.
-
Thanks for your encouragement! It's nice to know there are other chicks out there with similar problems. Fingers crossed that after the lap, I'm given the all clear. If thats the case, then they say they're going to put me on a fertility drug. Hears hoping anyway!:)

Hi everyone,
I had my lap on tuesday, and it didn't go so well. apparently me bowel was in the way, so the doc wasn't able to get in and do want she needed to do. Has this happened to anyone else? Apparently my uterus and ovaries look great, but she still thinks my tubes are blocked. i have an appointment with my doc tomorrow, to go over my options. IVF is one of them, and she did mention something about a bowel dr....I just wanted to know if this problem as happened to anyone else...i'm a little confused!!!

Hi Girls
KLT : I haven't had that prob. But I do know that sometimes endo is not visible with the naked eye.
AFM : I am being enduced on monday, I have also been in hosp twice since I last posted. So it is great to know that the end is near.
After I have had bub I will be having another lap and a hysteroscopy in the months following the birth. (sooner the better as I was told my Dr is leaving in Dec ).
-
Hi there girls!
Chris: good luck for Monday! we look forward to seeing your bubba's birth announcement! Look after yourself, and enjoy as best as we can! ;)
yeah, i guess i would also be wanting it to get done before your dr goes...especially if she knows your whole case history and stuff.
KLT: Havent had this personally, although a friend of mine had issues where the endo had caused scarring that had involved the bladder. it also stopped her from having full laps done...so i guess that it's not uncommon....ITH?!
and it's great news that the ovaries and uterus look good IMO. at least there is a bit of a silver lining there. i guess it's the not knowing part that's that hardest. but trust me, all is not lost! i too was given IVF as my only option. fortunately we didnt need to go down that path, but it was a pretty confronting conversation so BIG  to you.
AFM: well AF is doing ok pain wise. they seem to be sneaking up again in length, but as long as the pain is not around i am happy. my only concern ATM is that the O pain is BAAACKKK and pretty bad. which has me worried about the endo flaring up again on my wee ovaries. egad. but i still will be positive.
-
Hi everyone,
I'll join in here too if I may.
I had a lap 8 years ago for endo which was removed off my left tube but conceived my son very easily nearly 5 years ago and my daughter over 2 years ago even though I could feel the endo feeling again just before DS was conceived. Both my children were conceived from eggs from the right tube which leads me to think maybe the left isn't working so well.
I have been TTC for at least 8 months now (I think it may actually be more but Ive lost track of when we seriously started TTC) but to no avail. I get horrendously painful AF and O pains since having DD and I have a feeling that endo is now on my right side too.
I have been getting acupuncture for the past month to try and clear it out and Im off to the Dr tomorrow to talk strategies.
-
I had my Drs appt today. Im off to a gyno on Fri for ultrasound and another lap. Had bloods too to look for pcos, thyroid and iron deficiency. fun fun.
-
Hi Annsam!
sorry for taking so long to reply...i have been lucky enough to have had a wee holiday up the coast.
i have the endo on the right as well. it has been fairly quiet since having had DD, but some cycles are better than others.
How does the acupuncture work for you? i am interested in trying it out...
hope the blood test goes ok...

hi there girls.
it seems i am the one haunting this place lately LOL!
just jumping on as i feel sorry for myself. AF has come smack on time (great!) but now just doesnt want to leave. i have been clear since having DD (only small hiccups) but today it got so bad that i had to call DH to come and take me home. i can honestly say that the pain i felt today was like labour pains as you enter transition. that bad. i cannot believe it. thought i had beaten the monster. oh well. back to the drawing board. will have to give my homeopath in italy a bell and see if she can send me stuff over...ho hum...
sorry for the 'me' rant!
-
I'm sorry to hear your in pain again cassius. Although I only had 2 cycles before I fell again hey were not what you would call pain less !! It's interesting to have something to gauge the pain on now. ie: labour.
I always thought I had a high pain threshold and after labour I can say that I do, I know what your saying when you describe the pain as being as bad as transitional pain.
Hope AF does stay too long. Rant away I say, that's what we are here for.
-
yeah i always used to pride myself on having a high pain threshold. that's why i got freaked out when endo got really bad before i fell with Leila. because i was like: this cant be as bad as labour and i am a mess...now i know that it is as bad! (not sure whether to laugh or cry on that one LOL!).
