    Lap experinces.

I'm going in for my first lap in May, I want to know what it was like for everyone?
Before, During and After! I want the dirty details!

I've been told I can't take any medication 10 days before hand I'm dreading it because I've got to stop my pill and I can't take tramadol for the pain. Has anyone been operated by Dr Karuna Raja for endo? I would love to hear about her more. Feel extremely frightened by the fact she has a hotmail account for her work e-mail address

I have had two - the most recent one was in December. Overall I have had good recovery from both of them - shoulder tip pain was a killer with the second one though and it took quite some times to subside whereas the first one I didn't have any. Shoulder tip pain is caused by residual gas in your body as to do the lap procedure they have to completley bloat your abdomen with gas to be able to see all your organs etc and it can take a while for your body to absorb it all. I didnt have much actual pain at the incision sites (you will have 3) but I did have a lot of muscular soreness around my navel which did make bending over difficult - but then this time I had 4 kids to chase after whereas the first time I had none. I assume you will also be having a D&C too - I didn't have any pain from that and my blood loss was minimal. Some niggly cramps but nothing worse than I'd alrady been dealing with

I have had 2 so far. They were both pretty good again bad shoulder tip pain and i was in be for about 2-3 days after but recovered pretty good. I didnt have to stop taking my meds or tramal so i guess i was lucky but i did have to take pico prep the day before which is a bowel prep and that is pretty grose.
Don't freak out to much they are not that bad.
    Hope all goes well

Apparently so, mainly due to the gas they use to make your stomach bigger settling and your body absorbing it.
