I had my Lap in June this year, I had endo removed from my left ovary and behind my uterus. After my op my Gyno wanted me to go on my pill (levlen ED) full time, no breaks. I went to see him today, to see how everything was going. I have been fine, no spotting etc just a little achey when AF is meant to be due. He wanted me to see how I go with spotting/pain and if I get anything, he wants me to go back and he will put me on both Mirena & Implanon at the same together. I can't remember which way it works but one stops the pains and one will stop any bleeding/endo growth so together they cut everything out.
I was just curious as to if anyone else has been on both at the same time? If so, what were your experiences?
hi sophie,
iv got endo but they cant operate as i have adhesion problems....i had the mirena put in jan this year and before that i was bleeding for 3 months straight....i had a d&c at the same time...iv had it out but it did start to work.

I'm due for my second lap in a month, for the last 4-5 months I've been on Zoladex which is inserted via an injection every 28 days to prevent the endo growing. I was also on deproveria injections as well.
Before this I was on the pill non stop for 3-4 years.
My experiences with these are when I was depo it was fantastic, pain was barely there until the endo came back fighting strong!! Zoladex injections have been the worse!!! Whilst my gyno explains it's the best thing out there the hot flushes, moodiness and general depression doesnt really make it worth it.
Whilst I have no experienced Mirena + Implanon I hope this helps.
i have used both but not at the same time
i was also on levlen ed. ended up bleeding through on the pill so no good
mirena was good no pain no period and we did a lap 9 months after previous lap and mirena insertion and no endo had grown.
1st lap lots of endo, started levlen ed continuously 9 months later next lap, lots of endo so levlen ed didnt stop growth and mirena inserted
They removed "sheet endo" over my ovary and the stuff behind my uterus was not "deep" so fingers crossed I won't end up having aggressive endo! This is my 4th AF skip, and so far have only had the tiniest bit of spotting but I think that was still stuff clearing out from the surgery. I haven't had much pain, just general achey-ness when AF is meant to be due. So all going well I won't have to change anything.... I keep reading horror stories about Mirena/implanon... I am a bit scarred to know what they would to together!!!
i had a month of bleeding after mine but i had a infection in my womb...but once it settles down you will notice the difference...i wish you the best of luck with it....welcome to bb huni xox
Hi girls
I don't understand why your Dr wants to change you from levlon ED if it is working. To me the just a bit achey is a good outcome. I tried all strengths of the pill (no sugar pills- no AF) but they didn't work for me AF still arrived i didn't have a good outcome with Depo or Zoladex. I have been on that many drugs for endo its not funny. I ended up giving up and just living with the pain. Now I am finding that I my new medication for another health condition is interfering with my pain killers
I have been told that Mirena is supposed to be good and my Gyn has asked me about it. I don't like what I have read about when I googled it.
But since you had a good outcome with depo you might have a good outcome with the Mirena as the hormone in it is like the depo (it is a synthetic progesterone hormone).
Do a google and see what some other women have experienced. This is a really personal choice as it is your body and you have to live with what happens with the hormone treatment.
I was wondering if you could tell me your experiences with Zoladex and Depo both of which I am currently on. I havent really found much information on Zoladex. I've had not the best experiences on it. But I would like to hear yours if thats possible.
Hi
I didn't have them at the same time so my experience will be different to yours.
Zoladex I had hot flushes, sweats, deepened voice (that don't return to normal),and a few other little probs (mod swings, oily skin).
With Depo I had huge weight gain in the 9 months I was on it. I also started to have other probs but weight gain was the worst.
