Naturopath, doctors etc in Sydney for PCOS, firboids

    HI
I need to get some medical advice about ovarian cysts and a fibroid that i was recently diagnosed with.
Any suggestions as to which doctors, gynaecologists, herbalists, naturopaths etc specialise in this area in Sydney?

    Advice

    Hi!

I can't recommend anyone specifically, but as an ex-sufferer of severe endometriosis, I can tell you that in my experience, a good Naturopath was the only thing which provided me with lasting relief and got to the core of the problem. (This was after years of repeated surgery and synthetic drugs via the allopathic medical route- GPs, Gynocologists, Gastroenterologists etc and being told it would be difficult for me to conceive).
Most Naturopaths who have been in practice for a number of years will be very familiar with your condition. If you don't get much advice on this thread- I suggest you contact ANTA (Australian Natural Therapists Association) to get the details of all the registered qualified Natural Health Specialists in your area (Naturopaths, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Acupuncturists, etc) and perhaps a couple who are specialised in fertility management or reproductive-system problems. You will be able to find ANTA's contact details online.

Best of luck to you and I hope you find lasting relief like I have!!

PS- I also suggest purchasing the book by Australia's most esteemed Natural fertility Expert, Francesca Naish. It's available online and called The Natural Way to Better Babies- Preconceptual Care for Prospective Parents It contains a wealth of info that you are unlikely to get from your doctor and would be very beneficial given your condition.

    Hi Astro,

I only just saw your thread. I have a super gyno in Sydney. Where abouts are you? He works out of St. George Private Kogarah and his main office is in North Sydney. I'll be happy to PM you the details.

    Hi Jellybean and Sandygirl

    Thanks for your replies.

I just recently saw an obgyn (i have a uterine fibroid and endometrial polyp), but i would be interested in your recommendation Sandygirl, as i may get a second opinion. I live in the St George area.

Im also going to see an acupuncturist, and probably a naturopath too. So if you know any good naturopaths in the St George area, or Sutherlind Shire, please let me know.

    Thanks!

    Hi Astro,
I can't send a PM because you haven't got enough posts.
    Look up:

    'Centre for Advanced Reproductive Endosurgery'
    A/Prof Alan Lam

He is amazing. I had a fibroid removed in 2004 and another lap for endo several weeks ago. I went to another gyno first who wanted to cut me open. DR Lam specializes in laparoscopic surgery.

Good Luck. Let me know how you go.

    Thanks Sandygirl.

    I will look him up.
Ive been cut open twice for large ovarian cysts, and i had complications.
I now have a fibroid and endo polyp. Small in size. Saw one obgyn and they said they can remove it with a hysteroscope... so im hoping no incisions this time! I would like to get a second opinion though, so i will see if i can get in to see Prof Lam.

I'll let you know how i go. Thanks again.
