Need to vent!!

Yes it's because I'm on the public list. I phoned my specialist yesterday and told them what the hospital had said and I asked if it would make any difference if I paid for the operation. It would make a difference but it will cost me about $5000 out of pocket! Unfortunately that's just too much money that could go towards IVF so that's just not going to be an option for me. Health insurance would mean a 12 month wait before I could claim. They did say to me though that they have a short list of girls they are trying to confirm dates for and I'm one of them but she couldn't tell me potential dates. It wouldn't give me much re-assurance anyway as they had previously given me the 8th June as a date. It's also harder because i need a bowel surgeon as well so to co-ordinate both surgeons is making the wait even longer. Fingers crossed they have more info for me soon but for now I'm not holding my breath.....

I hope you get lucky and they get you in sooner rather than later. I've only had to wait about a month for each of mine by going private and that feels like long enough (and without the Zoladex to make it even worse). It's awful that you have to wait so long.

Thanks... I've been waiting since February!! I just wish i'd had health insurance...
