There are lots of us on this board who have been diagnosed with endometriosis so I hope you won't feel so alone now.

If it isn't too personal, how old are you and when are you hoping to start a family? I have had endo most of my life but wasn't diagnosed till last Christmas after a laparoscopy. I was 36 then and more than a bit worried about my chances of conceiving. We had been trying for three years without success. The infertility specialist who did the operation said that as everything else seemed to be in order (I was ovulating etc.) I had a very good chance of conceiving within the next six months. Well it didn't happen naturally but on my first IVF cycle in July, it did. So having the lap is a great help I think.

It sounds as if you have been to a few doctors about this. If you are thinking about having a family soonish, it might be a good idea to find a gynae who is an infertility specialist or maybe one who has a specialty in endo (there are a few around). You may already have done that so please forgive me if this advice is not needed.

I would definitely be making a time to have a chat to the doctor who did your lap. Ask them if there are any photographs of what they removed. See if they can be more specific about why they feel you will need fertility treatment. Not everyone with endo does. If you aren't happy with their explanations (or lack thereof) and you decide to change doctors, make sure the present doctor sends over all your records so you don't have to go through everything again with the second one.
