metformin is basically a drug that combats the insulin resistance that underlies the rest of the PCOS issues.
there are some doctors and specialists out there who believe that metformin is only useful if you have an abnormal glucose tolerance test, but (and this comes from my friend in the business) the latest research has found that treatment with metformin is still helpful with a normal GTT.
I'm just hoping that the specialist I've been referred to is up to date with the latest research. My chart is starting to show that my body is at least TRYING to ovulate regularly - still no sign of AF, though. But, by the looks of things, I don't think I can expect it for another couple of weeks!
