I am moving to Jakarta in 8 days to be with my husband, (He's been away for nearly 3 months :smt022 ) at this stage I wont be working over there so we thought it will be the perfect oppotunity to start a family.

I have POS and I have tried one cycle of Clomiphene (50mg) without ovulation success. I'm about to start cycle 2 (100mg Days 5-10) next week, but I would also like to find out if I should combine it with Metformin. My GP who organised the Clomiphene script said it wouldn't help, so now I'd like a second opinion from a specialist. Can someone please help me with the contact details of a specialist in Perth.

I dont have a specialist but my Dr- Dr Lauw at Joondalup Drive Medical centre is FANTASTIC!! He helped me with metformin and conceiveing Ryley.

I will try and make an appointments tomorrow. Though I'm not sure whether I should just go back to my GP armed with many medical journal articles from the internet or just ask him for a referral to see one of the Specialist at Pivet (it a long wait to see Dr Yovich) or maybe just go and see your doctor, Pee, then get all my test results sent up to Joondalup.

A quick question; Do you feel you have more control of your weight with Metformin?

I had a good weight loss with metformin and it worked well in helping me ttc with Ryley- mind you though we only tried twice after i lost 8 kilos approx.

Sorry it has taken so long to reply, as you would probably understand it has taken 3 months to get internet in our apartment.

Indonesia is great - Jakarta not so wonderful, we try and escape out of town as often as we can. (Climbed a volcano 3625M in central Java over Easter - awesome)(DH is in oil & gas)

Since I'm back online I have to ask everyone the question "How long did it take on Clomid/Metformin to conceive?" and "When should I seek alternative treatments?"

I've followed this treatment regime for 4 cycles, only ovulated once - cycle 2.

I am on cyle one of Clomid and have to wait till next week to see if i have O'd - if my imagining and interpretation of my "signs" i have o'd at least three times this month! LOL!! I am reading too much into everything at the moment. I asked my specialist about metformin as i was already taking it before TTC - and he said that we would just give the clomid three cycles first then we would take a break then have another go with metformin.
