I am fairly new to this forum, but I just wanted to share. this is my second month off the pill and I have level 5 Endo. I had a laproscoy in 2002 but was booked in for another November 2004 when I discovered I was pregnant (I was so suprised I would get pregnant). Anyway after my little boy is nearly 1, we have been TTC #2 for two months now. I am now at CD2 and I forgot how painful AF is without being on the Pill. I cannot function with Endo for the whole time AF is here. Its excruitiating. Im not sure I can get through this pain every month each time AF appears.
Does anyone else get excruitating AF and your TTC? Is there anything you do to help you through the pain? If I wasnt TTC I would definately be back on the pill.

I have endo level 4/5, but have just recently had it all removed, over two operations, firstly cystotomy on the bladder and then the second op involving a full bowel resection. How did i cope with pain prior to endo removal??? Well I got onto this lady called Sue Parsons who is a herbalist on the Gold Coast. Her company is called fertile mind and body, try googling it. (cant post website due to forum rules) Well actually my mum got me onto her, and the she mixed me up a ****tail off stuff that as you can imagine tasted just vial, and 7 days after taking these herbs, i got my period and i went from two days in bed doped up on neurofene plus to taking panadol and going to work. It was like a miracle...now my endo has been removed i don't have much problems with pain, around AF time. Maybe you should consider going and having another lap? Are you in Sydney or NSW? My surgeon is called Dr Michael Cooper, check out his website, and he is just awesome... he is known as the 'Endo Guru'... he will fix you up, he fixed me up when i thought there would be no hope!
i'm also at level 5 endo and my last af was the first one of the pill and it was bad enough i hope i fall pg very soon so i don't have to put up with it...i live on pain killers for about 2-3 days of af i can not function at all i also every now and again faint but never know when it will happen.I have suffered since day one of my af at 11years old and now 21 i finally found out why.i'm on cd26 and have had some weird things happening that never experienced before so fingers cross.
Oh Chris, you poor chook. I know what it feels like hun. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it much, aside from hoping that you get pg real soon, although Leisa's idea is a pretty good one.
Hi Chris, I too have severe endo and have found that painful intercourse was a sign that it had returned with a vengeance, definitely worthwhile having a chat to a specialist.
Its good to know there are other girls going through the same thing. We decided that If I didnt fall pregnant within 6months then we will look at seeing another specialist to possibly get it all removed again. Problem is Im scared to go again as last time one of my ovaries seemed to disapear and the Dr/Surgeon never told me. It wasnt until I was getting a ceaser that the surgeon mentioned if Id had an ovary removed. To my suprise, I said no, becuase I was not aware of this. Ovaries simply dont just vanish, and Im not sure If I should follow it up with the Dr who performed the Lap 5 years ago.
I am having the same problem, TTC for a while now and endo is giving me grief, I had a lap in Feb which has helped with painful intercourse but the period pain is a problem still. I'd get back to see a surgeon about it if the pain has really increased. They are getting so much better with what they can do with laps these days (I have had endo for years, 9 laps since 1993) they are really improving all the time.
Also the natural therapies can really help too if you find a good practitioner. I agree with Leis, where abouts are you, do you have an endo association in your state? Victoria has a great one with some wonderful doctors that work with it as well.
We are regional victoria (Ballarat) we just moved here from Melbourne, so I have no idea what sort of services they offer here. I would say nothing. But Im going to check it out and see if there is a womens clinic or something here.
Chris being a nurse working in the rural sector in NSW your best option will probably be to return to Melbourne, as unfortunatley it is quiet hard to find a good up to date surgeon in the rural areas, I myself headed back to sydney for all my surgery... Jane or Melbo may be able to recommend an endo specialists down there for you..
Christine, Russell Dalton is a good gynea in Ballarat, he runs Ballarat IVF and was recommended to me when I asked my gynea to reccommend someone for my sister who lives in ballarat for her recurrent miscarriages, I think my gynea said they trained together and Russell is quite good.
If you like him I'd give him a call, I have always found him very good, he is certainly a skilled surgeon and I get along with him well. Otherwise the endo association through the epworth or ecca have good surgeons too.
A big vote for Epworth from me, not that I have had any of my 12 laps there but they saved my life in Dec '98. Definitely worthwhile going to the best surgeon around.
Yep Magic me too, I have had three laps there and they were great, that's where My surgeon works from and I have had other things there as well and they are always fantastic.
Sorry, I just saw this. =) If you've had a good experience with your previous surgeon, it is probably best to return to them. Jane also has some good advice re the endo association.
My fertility specialist (Lyndon Hale) did my laparoscopy/endo cleanup and he did a fantastic job too. There's plenty of good ones in Melbourne it seems.
You mentioned about going on the pill - I am going back on it actually so that I hopefully won't need another lap before trying to have another baby. Now that the endo is under control, I want to keep it that way.
TTC with Endo is sooo painful
