Board wants to go public/offer shares to outsiders, but so far co-op has opposed this.

They have (had?) a majority share in a Chinese co that poisoned/killed babies in China. They also recently bought Nestle's yogurt biz in Aus.

My DH (from NZ) says Font is 'evil' and aiming to replicate Nestle - what an aspiration!

Monsanto own Brownes Milk among other things.

Wouldn't surprise me is they were trying to get Fonterra.

    Thanks for your replies.
Limeslice- Fonterra owns Brownes milk which is why I was wondering? I have looked but can't find where it says that Monsanto owns Brownes. Can I ask where you found your info on it? We are really curious!

There was a doco on Monsanto's use of hormones on their cows. They were wanting to increase their milk production without increasing their herd numbers - it was pretty gross actually...

Anyway, they mentioned that Brownes were one of the brands that they owned/held a stake in.
I have never been able to find any official info on what they have stakes in excluding the feed/seed companies listed on their website.

hmm...Kitt3n may well have some info on this
