I use sukin moisturizer (body n face) and cream cleanser for the face and they are awesome!! Smell great, no greasiness at all and my skin has never looked or feel better! No dry skin, no oily skin... Sukin also have a baby/kid range.
For shampoo n conditioner I am trying out a new brand organix I think? Coconut conditioner and vanilla shampoo, they smell divine and are paraben and sulfate free. Just got them from the health food shop.
For DD we are using gaia moisturizer and this other organic body wash that has lavender n all kinds of yummy smells to it! Can't remember the brand but we also have a chest rub for her too in the same brand. Again from a good health store.
I was thinking the same, but apparently the moogoo ones do... Ill be trying it today!!!! Wish me luck LOL
I read way too much on the aluminuim in normal deoderant, and dont want that stuff anywhere near my lymph nodes or breasts!!!
Me too, sorry... I do have the MooGoo one, with the idea that I can use it if I'm just at home or something... but if I'm going out in public I won't risk it, it just doesn't work well enough. But every 'body' is different.
Cleaning... mostly with bicarb & vinegar, EarthChoice dish liquid, Aware washing powder (check the EarthChoice labels as they aren't all fantastic) and Method bench & shower spray. Although I prefer my own bench spray out of vinegar & essential oils, and bicarb & vinegar work just as well in the shower (the Method shower spray does smelll divine).
All my bathroom stuff is upstairsI have a fantastic shampoo & conditioner with no parabens, SLS etc & is CHEAP! around $3.60 a bottle. Will post brand later
ETA - Shampoo & conditioner, Organic Care by Nature's Organics. Face wash, Organic Surge. It is hard though to find cleansers, moisturisers etc that I like & are ok. I have quite a bit of Body Shop stuff and sadly a lot of that has parabens in it too.
On the deodernat front it does take a little while for your body to adjust to no more nasty chemicals leaking into your skin via your armpits...I found I was a little smelly...nothing overly gross. With the moogoo one you have to let it dry too so you cant whack it on and go out it needs to be dry. Give me smelly hippie puts to chemicals anyday :P
I read some earthchoice labels and was very surprised!!
I use the plain wash liquid, is that one ok?? I noticed the fab softner (which ive never use, I use vinegar) looked a bit nasty??
I have found many "organic" stuff still has crap in it..
It only has to have a good main ingredient to be marketed as natural or organic. I picked up another shampoo in the health shop when I got the moogoo, and some of it was loaded with stuff I couldnt name!!! Ans some where definatly chemicals.
I wanted to get a list, and then just shop from that so I could stop searching. Its bloody hard!!!
Exactly PB, you have to read your labels! I use EarthChoice dishwashign liquid - I couldn't find anything that didn't have sulphates in it. Never use fabric softener. The liquid wash... do you meanthe Earth Choice one? they have around 3 different ones I think, I can't remember which is best
Boomba, I might give it a go when the weather cools down. I just hate smelly pits![]()
Yep, the plain bottles bluish washing mashine liquid.
I think the creamy bottle that isnt see through isnt too good?? I hope I havent got that backwards!!!
Its AMAZING what they let get called organic and natural.. so damn deceiving!!!!
I think there are no regulations on what you can name natural or organic which sucks! I have a great little book called "The Chemical Maze" By Bill Statham, it has all your bad chemicals listed etc. Very handy!
Miessence is very very good on all fronts, organic, ethical and natural.
Some things have that certified organic stamp thingy?
Helle, I have read that just means "organic", not neccessarily good!!
Petroluem is organic, so are many other chemicals. And I *think* it only has to have a certain amount of organic stuff to get the stamp, regardless of what else is in it.
That was me Helle - addicted to White King heremight have to look into the Enjo one because that is pretty much the only nasty thing in my house now...oh other than Finish dishwasher tablets. That is whole 'nuther kettle o fish. Any recommendations there chicks?
you know something funny, i bought eco stor (the one like the nappy san tub) for the nappies last night, and after it was in the trolly, i saw there products everywere! was going to get the washing powder, but df has a reaction to certain powders/soaps so cant risk changing from the one i use now, you know how men get when there sick or injured? imagin one with a rash from his clothes!! i use the purity sensitive liquid. no idea whats in it there not clear on the ingredients list.
It's all plant based and suitable for sensitive skin and NB skin so I can't see how it would give him a problem, however yes I can imagine the type of men they could become covered in a rash from clothes XD
I am like that with powders and liquids with strong fragrances.
I love ecostore, they should give me commission![]()
Is there a site that lists all the brands that ARE good???
Someone mentioned baby stuff.... I dont use any of it, at all.
I use plain old olive oil (in the brown bottle from the chemist, all natural pure iol).. for bath, hair, moisturiser everything. They dont get any products till its time to wash longer hair.
Its cheap, natural and its what they use in the good hossy's too..![]()
