Could you live without TV?

Ugh, I know what you mean about Australia's Funniest Home Videos Artechim Laughing at people who are getting hurt is strange IMO.... and it's not the kind of thing I'd want my kids to learn either. Admittedly I do catch bits of it and I don't mind the videos that involve animals... cats springing out from unlikely places is always a hoot... but as soon as the ones come on that involve accidents I tell my littlies "Hmmm, we don't laugh at people who hurt themselves do we?" and switch off.

I forgot to mention that when my DH and I first moved in together we didn't have a TV for several months... and eventually a family member gave us a tiny black and white TV... this was in 1994... we were probably one of the last people in Melbourne to use a B&W TV LOL and that did us for the rest of the year I think.... until someone gave us an old second-hand colour TV... oh the luxury! LOL
Actually it never really phased me.... at the time I was working on a large cross-stitch birth sampler and only kinda listened to the TV anyhow. Oh and we only got a DVD player about 2 years ago. We just aren't that "into" TV I guess. Bit ofr a turnaround for both DH and I who came from families who always had the latest TV related items. Both DH and I were one of the first families in the street (when we were kids) to have a colour TV. Showing my age now but I can remember watching black and white TV.... I remember how amazing it was to see my shows in colour for the first time! Gilligan's Island... Johnny Young's Talent Team... Mr Squiggle.... Doctor Who. Also: my family got a video recorder in about 1982 before I had even heard of them.... but I don't recall watching that many videos... my sis and I would rather have played outside I think... and as soon as I came in when it was dark I just wanted to be left alone in my room to read and draw.
