Unfortunately both my grandmothers died before I was born. My maternal grandfather died when I was 8 and my paternal grandfather died when I was 19, so my children never got to meet their grandparents, on my side or DH's as they had passed away in his early teens.

What makes it worse is that my children don't have biological grandfathers living either, both DH and my fathers died years before we met

However my mum's partner plays the poppy role fantastically and my boys are lucky to have him, even if he isn't biologically related, he spoils them rotten!

my girls have both sets of grandparents alive (dont see their paternal grandfather though nor his partner) they also have a step nanna who is very active in their life.

they had up until 2 months ago their great grandparents maternal side, but my grandad passed away recently they also have my dads dad and his wife, who we see occasionally. as for exh grandparents no idea. They have a set of step great parents though as well (well the steps aren't steps for bubs but my older 3, lol make sense? and they aren't referred to as steps though, just nanna etc)

My kids have all their grandparents (all aged 60 - 64) and 3 great grandparents. My mum's mum (Grandma) is 89 this year. My dad's mum (Nana) is 82 ish I think. DH's dad's dad (Old Pop) is 89. DH lost his Nanna (his Dad's mum) in the early days of my pg with DD. We got the chance to share our news with her before she passed. I never met DH's mum's parents. My Dad's dad died quite young before I was born.

My Grandma is a great grandma to 50 & counting. She is also a great great grandmother to 2.5! One of my cousins became a grandad twice over at 40 when both his son & daughter became parents. I guess that's what happens when you have 9 kids and all of them have between 2 & 5 kids each . My Nana is a great grandma to 4 (just my 2 & my brother's 2). DH's Pop is a great grandad to 6.

Yes, my two girls have five grandparents - my mum (65) and dad (64) plus my step mum (70) and my fil (62) and step-mil (52). They also have two great grandparents - my fraternal grandmother (83) and my husbands step grandmother.

I haven't had a grandparent since I was 6yo. My mum's parents were in their mid 40s when they had her, and she was 30 when she had me.
DH has both of his grandmothers.
So the kids have all of their grandparents and 2 great grandmothers.

My DD has all grandparents. I've just this month lost my Pop (83) so she has 2 great-grandmas and 1 great-grandpa all in their mid 80's. My great-grandma only died at the end of last year aged 103. I'm 32.

DH has lost all his grandparents in the last 10 years.

DS & my 2 belly babes have both my parents, but both DH's parents passed away 20-odd years ago. And they are the only grandchildren too (and that's not likely to change)

Neither DH nor I have any living grandparents.

When DD was born she had 5 great grandparents and a full compliment of grandparents. 3 years on she still has all her grandparents and two great grandmothers who are both in their 90s

I never met any of my Grandparents due to distance (UK) and Family issues on my Dads side.
Our kids have my Mum still alive and DH's parents. No Great Grandparents.
My Father actually died when I was 3mths pregnant with DS1.
Funnily enough, the kids were just talking about this in the car this morning on the way to school on who of their Grandparents are still alive.

DS is very blessed - he has all his grandparents still living. However, as DH's parents were old when they had him (certainly for those times), I never met DH's grandparents, let alone Liebling. Liebling can remember his great-grandma (who had eight great-grandchildren and two pregnant granddaughters when she died) and his great-grandad is still alive and is in his late 80s (with six great-grandchildren, although he has only met Liebling).

I had three great-grandparents when I was younger and wanted my children to know as many of their grandparents and great-grandparents as possible and for as long as possible. Stormageddon will never know my dad's mum, nor a favourite great-aunt, both of whom died this year. It is something I struggle with a lot.

Having said that, my parents are 61 and 58, so fx they'll get to meet all their great-grandchildren. DH's parents are in their 70s now.
