    Naps

I have 2 children, master 9mths and master 2.9. Before I go to put the baby down for a nap I organise play things, some snack and water and put a new dvd/cd on for my master 2.9, but Im not very comfortable leaving him alone for long- however I cant rush the baby to sleep, and he takes as long as he does to settle, somedays its longer then others.

What do y'all do with the older child/ren when you put the baby down for a nap?

thats what i do to.. i tell ds that im putting dd down and to play quietly. usually he falls asleep to!

at night i have to do the same but usually he puts himself to bed as it can take an hour and a half to get dd to sleep! i feel terrible that most nights he goes to bed by himself.

I have a 2 year old and a 4 month old. When I am putting DS2 to sleep, I read books to DS1. He sits quietly while I read as he loves it. I also make up stories sometimes.

Also, I have a little activity pack of quiet toys such as pencils & paper; playdough, a mirror (DS1 loves looking at himself LOL!) and some cars.
