    Hello Baby!

A bit of a warm and fuzzy....

I have been thinking for ages how I can contribute to the kinder my daughter goes to (4 year old group with 4-5 year olds) which would incorporate what I do. Parents come in and play music, do language etc. So I bought them a copy of ‘Hello Baby’ and gave it to her teacher, who I love, love, love… she is the best kinder teacher I have come across, very good. Anyway, I gave it to them this morning and she read it to the class and they loved it and asked lots of questions!! Imagine every kinder having this book! How wonderful to expose kids to this at a young age.

But awesome book… Rissy was reading it to Lijie as I bought her a copy too, and on the page where the newborn body drawing is, she was like, this is the penis (giggles), this is the electric cord…. (mum giggles). Hey, at least she knew allllll about the placenta!

Kelly, bit of track, but who is the author of this book?? I'm struggling with the best way to explain to my DD (2) that we have another baby on the way (to be honest I was scared at first following my m/c last year) - is this book the sort of thing that might help me?

Definitely! You may have to order it in, I got it from A&R took a few days. Jenni Overend. Awesome book - I wish I had it sooner, but it will be great preparation for the next one for both of them. They have a few years to work on it LOL

this would be a good book for older kids ... we are ttc ... and since we are on the topic of introducing babies to toddlers ...i got a question??? do you think its a good idea to give nixon (who will prob be near 2 when the next ones born) a doll to "practise" with .... or will that confuse him when the real one comes along ..

i want to teach him how to be gentle and stuff

    or is this sissyfying him

I held a newborn the other day to see what DS's reaction would be to me cuddling another bub.. he didn't give a hoot! LMAO.

I bought this book, but it is probably a bit old for him.. but ya never know.. certainly won't hurt to read it to him

As for being gentle - DS is learning to be gentle with ME! LOL. When I say to be gentle, he goes from clapping his hands on my cheek to a lovely soft gentle stroke down my cheek. hehe. I don't think I'll bother with a doll. Altho.. I dunno! He shows interest in babies when we see them, or if a baby comes on TV. hmm..
