I too think you're amazing for giving it another go. And I disagree that it wasn't worth it - I imagine that if you hadn't tried to reconcile you would always be wondering 'what if'. This way you know you truly did everything.

Another thing to keep in mind when filing for divorce is the admin costs. I am not sure if they vary from state to state, but when I got divorced about 5 years ago, it cost about $400.

Re cost: If your on a pension and you file yourself not joint you can apply for the fee to be waived.
