For anyone who is supporting someone through a DV relationship please, please remember that you don't have to support their choice but to just let them know that you are there to support them. To know that they have someone at the end of the phone line gives enormous security.

That is very true. When my mum was in a DV relationship it was hard for her to leave as he threatened her, she didn't drive had no money (he controlled everything) but she told her BF who was the only one to believe her and she would call every night at 6pm to ask how she was and if she needed her to call the police all my mum would have to say is "yes kim" or "no kim" and if my dad asked mum would lie and say kim wanted to go shopping or if she should get a haircut. Its what saved my mums life when it came to my dad chasing my mum around the house with a knife trying to kill her.
