Wow Smithy, that is a big change! Good luck.Gut feeling is always good. I changed doctor for my second stim cycle and was so glad because Dr Kovacs is wonderful (although my other doctor was not bad).
Regard the stim cycle, from my understanding there are two types of cycle:
1) down regulation. This is when they give you the pill. The purpose is to regulate your hormones, ensure you do not ovulate at bizzare times and that when the injections are given you have definitely ovulated and your hormones are at the right phase.
2) luteal cycle. This is when you don't use the pill but start the cycle on day 21. You will need a BT to ensure that you have ovulated. I think this type of cycle can only be used for women who have regular menstrual cycle.
My first cycle was type 1 and my second stim cycle was type 2. I had a better response in my second cycle. Not sure whether the fact I did not take the pill had any effect to the outcome.
