    Hey ladies,
smithy it sux your AF wont go away...but like you said at least they didnt cancel you , hopefully AF is cleaning you out extra good and you will have a nice fresh home for the little embies!!
MRS M yay for maybe pushing your appointment up a bit, we were thinking of going soon aswell but thought to wait until the beginning of the year to reset the safety net. Oh but if you do go early i can pick your brains regarding your experience woohoo! Let us know how you go with trying to get another apointment (from what the nurse told ne Dr Soo is pretty easy to get into) BROOKE that the 2 week wait goes quickly...have you had any pregnancy symptoms??? I have everything crossed that this will be a BFP!!!

Forgot to ask last time...is anyone here doing IVF for male factor? DP is azoospermic (no sperm in ejac.) and will have to do a MESA (sperm aspiration from epididymas). The thing is we wont know if there is even sperm until our cycle is underway....this has me really nervous especially since Dr Soo isnt a MFS...i originally had an appointment with Dr Lok as he is but cancelled because unlike Dr Soo, Dr Lok splits his time with other clinics and I didnt want to have the awkward conversation about 'oh you should go through sydney ivf there better with MF etc etc' maybe he wouldnt say that but idk....

Another thing, can you ladies please tell me (especially the ones who are travelling) the tests you had done before seeing the FS. Ive already had pap smear, tests for HIV, hep etc and am planning to have a dye test (hysto something or other??) and bloods day 3 and 21, DP has had SA, bloods for HIV etc but needs another SA and BT for hormones (notebly FSH which will indicate if sperm is being produced...this test is crucial as a normal range will indicate a block whilst a high range will indicate most likely that sperm is not being produced at all ). Is there anything ive missed? What tests did you take to FS and was it enough???? Oh im also planning on getting some OPK's to track the next few months of O

Wow that was a long one...thanks for all your help ladies!

Ooops forgot to ask...how much did you ladies have saved before your first cycle??? We're thinking around the $3500 mark. Will this be enough???

    This money includes

    consultation
    airfares
BT's/ultrasounds (done in Qld) (how many is needed anyone???)
accomodation (staying with family who are unaware of IVF, may need hotel for EPU/ET)
    ICSI/MESA

I hope i havent forgotten anything....

Mmama... I think you just about have it covered. I had a pap smear and the dye test done and a full blood count. DF had a sperm count done and a full blood count aswell. That will save alot of stuffing around with Dr Soo that way he can look at the test results and just refer you straight to Westmead for your treatment. Might be a good idea if you can maybe make an appointment to see them on the same day. Kill two birds with on stone, my friend came down from Townsville an seen dr soo and thats what she did to save time and money.
Hey Smithy hope your doing ok,take care darl.

    Hello ladies

As you may be aware we have a general chat area for those undergoing IVF in the LTTTC/AC area.

As the discussion in this thread has become general in nature could you please now move your general chatter, questions and support to the LTTTC/AC thread. You will all be very welcome to continue to discuss aspects of your cycles, treatments etc there. I will close this thread now.

    Thanks for your understanding.
