I like BBB's (got 10 of them) but I really only use them for nights. I will use them during the day if I'm out of AIO's.
I had some hemp ones in the older style french terry and didn't think they were as absorbant as the bamboo. Not sure about the new hemp fleece style and haven't really been tempted to get some to try as I really don't need anymore of them.

They do take a long time to dry and it can be a bit frustrating, especially during the winter but a large enough stash helps. I would recommend getting a trial pack to see what you think and take it from there. I would say that about any cloth nappy. Most I've only got one or two of and have gone back for more of the ones that have worked best for us.
