From around 5 months old. Was in disposables at night until about 5 1/2 months though. Started in terry flats then got a few magic-alls on sale, then got a heap off buy for baby. Definately saved cash!

DS1 was from 9 months and only part-time.
DS2 has been since about 6 weeks old, full-time.
on and off since bubba was about 2 weeks old, she's 8 weeks old now
since we got home from hospital, so when she was 3-4 days old. We use terry flats, so don't have to worry too much about long drying times. If we are going out for the day or away from home for a night or two I use sposies. DF refuses to have wet/dirty cloth nappies lying around the car! Lol
from about 5 months full time unless they dont dry quick enough
Fair enough I say. It is ok if you are somewhere with a washing machine, like when we stay with the grandparents, but not if the nappies will just be sitting in a bag for days.... stinky!!
DS1 was full time cloth from the time we got home from hospital. DS2 is still part time as we were given a gift of 3 months supply of sposies from a nappy service... we still have around 100 left at 7 1/2 months.![]()
Used terry squares on DS from birth to 6mths
Modern cloth on DD full times from 5 wks until toilet training - she is still in night nappies but they stay pretty dry so much easier now
i was 30.

I was 22
Hi all,
hope this isn't considered hijacking the thread but those who used from newborn, I wondered what sort of MCNs you started with?
I really want to use MCNs immediately but there is so much information out there about which nappies do / don't fit newborns and so on that I don't want to be 20+ of the 'wrong ones'!
thank you![]()
i used prefolds and covers and a few bubblebubs bambams with covers. They grow so quickly out of the nb size, that financially it was much better for us to use prefolds. If money was no issue i would get a stack of bubblebubs bambams, they are a great fit, trim and absorbent.![]()
Hi healthychick,
I used Swaddlebees newborn fitteds, Kissaluvs sz 0 and itti bitti smalls with a Motherease Rikki X Sml cover and they all fitted my 7lb2oz newborn. Cherubs Kiss Raphaels are also a great nb nappy, but hard to get hold of. I just didn't want to go there with flats LOL
One other thing too, if bub has chicken legs like mine did, go for some sidesnappers like Swaddlebees - they fit much better and don't gape around the legs until bub puts on some chub there. But having said that, a well fitting cover will catch most poos anyway.
