And you don't defrost them astrid? Just put it in frozen in lunch box? That would make things so much easier.
Bahahahahaha. :P
Lunch box inspections are scary !
When DS1 was in Prep his teacher got them all to draw a big circle on a piece of paper and then draw a line down through the middle of the circle. One side was labeled "bad" and the other side of the circle was labeled "good" then they all had to empty their lunch boxes out onto their pieces of paper and put each piece of food into the appropriate good or bad side. Then the teacher took photos and your child's photo was printed out and was sent home to you o.O
That was her way of letting you know what wasn't acceptable !!
Lots of mortified parents...caused quite a stir !
I reckon!
I wonder if said teacher would mind the same being done to her pantry??
Oh my gosh I feel like a bad mum! So much home cooked stuff here, DD took an apple, some grapes and a banana, cheese sandwich, crackers and cheese and some ride wheels  Might have to bake up some muffins and freeze them!!!
Just cooked some polenta and cheese muffins. Fingers crossed the kids like it. They have never had polenta so we will see.
Woah on the lunch box inspections!
Made some hummus but ran out of containers to freeze it in lol! Does anyone know how long it will keep for in the fridge?
DD had a Nutella Roll (which is almost as bad as leftover maccas and wizz fizz but she eats it), grapes, an apple, yoghurt, 2 mini banana muffins and some rice crackers.
Lunchbox inspections? Seriously?
I always put frozen food in my kids lunchboxes too. I freeze it because it's easier but mainly it's so the kids don't eat all the school lunch stuff during the week.
I thought a boiled egg is fine! Though I don't do it too often cause I worry about it sitting in lunch box all day and I don't want DD to get teased for the eggy smell. I remember when I was a kid this girl used to get teased for egg breath. :-(
So Kim Chee is off the list?
I just googled Kim chee and sounds like it may not be a good choice for those who are odor conscious.
I do boiled eggs sometimes for DD. I find it needs to be occasionally, on of those things that if is repetitive, she will stop eating it. Same with egg sandwiches
Popcorn as well. Good thing do sneak from an after school snack. Just make extra and put some aside for the following day.
Really with the homebaking, you can do special baking just for school, or if you are baking for other things, just sneak away some portions into the freezer![]()
My Mum did curried egg sandwhiches so the egg smell wasn't as strong..seemed to work. My kids would not eat that though.
