She uses a sippy cup well, but when I offer the left over from her bottle she just doesn't want it. She would prefer water or food. lol
She doesn't seem at all unwell. Apart from a bit of nappy rash that we can't shake.
She's on the fastest teat and has been for a while. She doesn't get upset when she's drinking the formula, or when she's had enough...
Hmmm... maybe the nappy rash is a bit of thrush? Have you noticed anything in her mouth? Possible that she might have it there and it hurts or something to drink?
Nicky- If I was you, I would be weaning her onto cows milk. I was talking to DH about this today, seeings as though LJ is 10 months old. If you give her cows milk in her sipper cup, and she drinks it, then keep doing it. If she doesn't then I don't know what else you could try.
Just wondering, cna I take DD to a pharmacist about her nappy rash if it's possibly thrush? Or do I have to take her to a GP? Just hate going to the GP for a 2 minute consultation that costs me a fortune (and is a 200km round trip).
Get some Daktarin (or maybe it is Daktozin) nappy cream from the chemist to clear it up - it's an anti-fungal nappy rash cream and will get rid of the rash if it is thrush. My DD had some thrush and this cleared it up.
I have a real mental blank with the name of that cream, I can never remember the name but I know it when I see it! It will be there with all the others (Bepanthen, Desitin etc etc).
Also...I'm still on my different teat/sippy cup theory...my friend's DD suddenly rejected her bottles about this age and only wanted to drink from the really cheap cartoon character bottles you get at the supermarket. Just a thought...
ETA: If she is eating cheese she'll be getting plenty of calcium. A matchbox sized lump of cheese is the equivalent to 250mls of milk.
Thanks Curly. I will get some cream next time I'm in town. Am also going to use flannels and water instead of wipes for a while.
I will try some different bottles. She has about 4 different types of Sippy cups that she drinks from so will try them all with Formula.
