    Feeding every 3 hrs

DD2 is 7 weeks and has been on formula for 4 weeks. She has the S26 gold.

She hardly ever goes longer than 3 hrs and usually gets fussy at around 2.5 hrs.

Why doesnt she go longer? Should i look at changing her formula?
I know that she is due to move up to the 180ml but she has been ike this since we started her on it.

I will add that she does sleep between 7-9 hrs at night so it is just the day time we have issues with.

That's completely normal for a 7wk old baby. There is nothing wrong with her or the formula. If you think she might drink more then make up a bit more, but don't force her to finish the bottles.

I look at it like this:
I don't eat the same amount of food at the same time every single day, so why would my babies or children?

My DD was feeding 3hrly till she was about 4-5 months old - I just went with it and she was usually polishing off 240 mls to 260 mls in a sitting. When she was 6 months she stared to go 4 hrly as she was having some solids as well. She used to sleep 6.30 till 6.30 over night after 3 months so it was only day feeds as well. My MCHN told me to always make the bigger amount on the tin so then if she wasnted more it was there and if she didnt no biggie.

Its normal for babies to feed something like 8 -12hrs in a 24hr period. Therfore that would imply its perfectly normal for your bubs to feed that often especially at that age.
