    Question Neocate formula

Hi, I'm just about to start my 5 month old daughter on Neocate formula (you get it on prescription) because she is lactose intolerant. I'm currently using S26 lactose free and usually pre-make a bottle before i go to bed for the middle of the night feed, and then just microwave it for 30 seconds to take the chill off. I've noticed on the Neocate tin that it says "Important notice"..don't use a microwave to heat formula. Does anyone know why? The other formula tins don't have this message. Thanks

The reason this warning exists is because microwaving causes hotspots in the liquid which can burn baby's mouth. It should exist on all brands of formula, I think, because it is dangerous. Heating in hot water creates a more even result.

    :yeahthat:

A premade bottle isnt any good if it has been made up for more than an hour, unless its refrigerated.

I just have the water already boiled in the kettle and let it cool, when it comes time to feed, i boil it just a little to warm it up and make it up fresh.
