I was still sterilising bottles when my DS was 18 months old! I suppose it was just habit. Don't sterilise his anymore as I know have my DD's bottles to do.

I'm in the habit of sterilising now and I really don't want her to get sick. I was just surprised to read this because I hadn't read it anywhere else and it was just mentioned in passing, like it was no big deal and everyone knew it anyway.

I've never known anyone IRL to sterilise after 6 months. They put a lot worse in their mouths when they become mobile.

Hhhmmm that's interesting, everything I've ever come across says 12 months, mind you I do wonder why I bother given what he puts in his mouth now...

I've heard 6 months from a number of sources - the bottles just need a good hot soapy wash and hot rinse, 'the usual' kind of washing up.
